Should We Be Free College Free Or Free?
The word “free” is something everyone likes to hear because it means they can receive what they want without having to pay to obtain it therefore profiting. However, nothing is truly free because if one individual doesn’t pay then another will have to in his place. It’s how our world works, as well as the economy! The same goes for college, everyone one would agree that free college sounds amazing! With free college all those loans could be avoided leading to a happier, debt free life, right? While the debt free part is true think about the bigger picture, if you don’t pay for you college tuition then who will? Leading to the next question; if no one pays then what effects may that have on our society as well as everything else? While the sound of a debt free tuition may sound like a dream come true, the negative outweighs the positive by a substantial amount leading to consequences that aren’t very pleasant in the long run as well as problems that could have been avoided. The same is with college, the amount of money students put into their college education often helps fuel their desire to succeed, helping them push themselves to do better! With tuition free college, the risk factor of failing classes and test goes out the window! The student would be able to theoretically, retake the class over and over until finally they pass. Meanwhile, the school is paying over and over to educate that individual. As the student would be finically unscaved, the college or university would be ones to pay the price! The financial cost of education encourages individuals to do their absolute best and study hard! It helps motivate students to pass their classes, as well as keeps them engaged in their education therefore it is important that college tuition stays the way it
