High Cost Of College Essay
Have you seen the price of Colleges these days? With the number of people going to college at an all time high it is critical to the American people that the college prices go down because the amount of debt that is associated with it. On average the common college student is in 37,000 dollars! That is a lot of money for the average person much less someone without a full time job. In a study conducted by AfterCollege only 14% of college students have a job waiting for them after they graduate. Could you imagine sitting on a loan of 37,000 dollars and not have job to pay it back? This should be changed by lowering the prices of college, then at least you can pay back your debt faster. People who have potential and the knowledge to go to college and make a difference won't be able to do so if they don't have the money. In Europe, some colleges and top universities are free! People like Leonardo Da Vinci, attended colleges in Europe. People should all have equal opportunities and should be able to pursue their dreams. If colleges were free, who knows what the world might have invented today. Maybe a cure for cancer? Or a new object that can better our daily lives. The cost should be lowered for all of the people wishing to continue on their pursuit of education. The cost of items in store decrease when there is more people buying it so why is it not the same for colleges. It is a necessity to lower the amount of debt in the US which tuition by it self is 1.3 trillion. For the average student 37,000 dollar fee should be lowered substantially to account for today's job market. Besides the amount amount of money should be proof enough but to have only 14% have a job waiting for them in an unstable economy is scary.
