Should students, and not teachers or administrators, be in control of their own education
Why students should not be in control of their own education? This question has been thought for many people when they are learning. Some students say that they are mature enough to take control of their own education. I disagree with this. It is better if teachers or administrators take control of students’ education because most of the students are not mature enough.
The first reason I prefer that teachers or administrators should be in control of students’ education is that most of the students are not mature enough to decide what to study or not. An example- some students from senior year, will not be thinking about studying at all, they will be just thinking about partying. At that age, they are not mature enough to take care of their education.
Another reason why I prefer that someone mature should take control of students’ education is that students will choose subjects that they like the most. It is more likely that they will choose subjects where they do not have to study hard. Someone in high school that is lazy or that does not like to do anything will choose the easiest subjects, and not the subjects that she needs. They will not take the classes that they actually need for their future careers. So if teachers and administrators have the control of their students’ education, students will more likely to be successful in the university and in their future jobs.
And last but not least, I believe that students do not have any experience about life, they are just starting to live. However, teachers and administrator do have. Teachers and administrator before becoming what they are, they have been through many experience situations, such as the fact that they have already finished the university, and also the fact that they already have a job.
In conclusion, I have shown that it is better for students to have someone mature to take control of their education. This will be better for their future due to the fact that teachers and administrator have more experience on it.
