Shore Galleries-Personal Narrative Analysis
I parked my car on Devon Avenue in front of Shore Galleries and took a quick glance through the car window. Shore Galleries sign was attached to the building above the main entrance and windows were completely tinted. Shore Galleries was located next to a dry cleaning business. Unless you knew the nature of business of Shore Galleries, not many people would realize that Shore Galleries is a firearms store with an indoor gun range. I sat in my car for a few minutes to clear my head and thought about things that I should pay a closer attention to once I get inside. As soon as I walked in through the door, suffocating smoke of cigars greeted me. Instantly I was surrounded by unpleasant cigar odors and stagnant air. Two white salesmen were

I remember day after day going to swimming lessons in the summer of 2002 at the Mount Vernon pool. Almost every day I walked by the ladder that seemed to go on forever. I used to sit on the pools edge and watch the older kids do flips and other cool tricks off of the high dive. Many times I had gotten half way up the ladder but couldn't bring myself to go all the way up. For a seven year old going off the high dive was like a right of passage and a way to be seen as "cool" in the eyes of the older kids. Today I will be telling you about the first time a braved the high dive.…

After Big Sur and spending the night in Pacifica we went further north to San Francisco. When we spent the night in Pacifica our hotel was right near the ocean. It was such a beautiful view to wake up to. I just absolutely love the sound of the ocean. In San Francisco we went over the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a pretty cool thing to see with the views of San Francisco and the ocean. We then went to the park across from the Painted Ladies. The Painted Ladies are the houses that appear in the background of the opening of the original Full House series. It was an awesome thing to go see as I grew up watching Full House and will still watch it from time to time. Once we were done at the park we went to the San Francisco Giants stadium. Although…

While all of the different skills that was discussed earlier would help me in my dream career, however there is a unique skill that will benefit more than the other is revision. Being a photographer the power of revision may be one of the most important skill. The photographer will need to constantly review their piece of work and try to improve on what that was wrong, if they do not revise on what was wrong then they will not understand the meaning of success. Photographer will need to know why they are doing the same mistakes over and over again so they can avoid it, especially when turning the final product. With the revision the photographer will be able to continue to learn what is needed to be done to get the best result that they want,…

Back when I was a littlun, my daddy worked in the meat factory and mama stayed at home cleaning the house and making me my dinner. My parents wanted me to be a smarty, so they made me go to school. They also said I was a good singer, so I decided to join the boys choir. Me and my best bud Charles would go down to the river to skip rocks, but sometimes we would go play chicken on the railroad tracks. Sometimes daddy would say “Stephen, wanna come a huntin with me?” and I would tag along behind him while he hunted for pheasant. I never really listened to daddy’s rules, so he decided to send me off to some fancy boarding school. It was at this point in my life where everything started taking a turn for the worst.…

Everyone has their own community or organization for which they belong to. Within that community you tend to find who you are and what you are about. For me I found my identity in being an outdoors man. Being an outdoors man at my young age seems to be rare at this day, but that doesn’t prevent me from doing something I love and appreciate. Growing up with my family full of avid outdoors men helped influence me and only made my identity stronger.…

One of the professions I have a lot of interest in would be marine biology. I took the high school course on it last year and I had a lot of fun in the class. The critters were adorable and I was able to play with all of them, whenever I wanted. My favorite, honestly, would have to be the brittle sea star. It was so cool!…

Being a fairly artist person for my entire life, I feel like it is a little weird that I have never been to an ‘art museum’. I grew up with a very artist mother, who did a lot of carvings and even won prizes for some of her carvings, and I believe that artistic talent rubbed off on me as well. I have always had interest in art, and strived in high school where I was placed in advanced art, painting and drawing classes. These days, I have traded my pencils and paintbrushes for mouse-pointers and Photoshop. So I was pretty excited to go to the Minneapolis Art Institute’s art museum over Spring Break, and excited to get a good grasp on some of the changes and fads that came out during different eras of art.…

I always keep this poem and picture in my wallet. I take it everywhere with me because it means quite a lot to me in two very different ways. One of those ways is because it holds sentimental value. When I was younger I learned to read very late in life and I was always so embarrassed of that. My father knew that I was struggling and bought me the book, Where the Sidewalk Ends. It is a book full of poems and little pictures written by Shel Silverstein. I remember opening the book to ta random page, and it was the page with this poem. I then remember my dad asking me to read it to him. I was so uncomfortable, even thought I was just going to be reading to my dad. He gave me some words of encouragement, and even thought I was not able to read…

As a kindergartener, when I grew up I wanted to be a princess, or own a hamster farm, or never really grow up at all. In second grade I developed an obsession with the ocean and what lives in it, specifically sharks. Because of my love of sharks I decided that when I grew up I wanted to be a marine biologist. When I made this decision I never knew what a big part math played in this profession. Math has always been my biggest weakness when it came to my education. I would spend hours trying to understand all the numbers and what to do with them. I know now regardless of my love of the ocean, I would have ended up being miserable having to spend the rest of my life constantly feeling confused and idiotic.…
