Shard Academy Monologue
September fourth: the start of a new school year and the start of my first year at Shard Academy.
Shard Academy was one the the three biggest schools in Pramm and it was almost a sanctuary to Bent users like myself.
I stood on the subway platform with a few other kids my age to wait for the train. The butterflies in my stomach were flying like crazy, this was the most suspenseful thing that ever happened then. Might as well forgot if it was real, if weren’t the robotic announcements on the train arrival.
"Almost time, almost time. Just be cool, Cadence." I muttered myself, gripping my bags tightly.
The excitement was making my heart pound wildly and I felt lightheaded. Was this really what it was like to be nervous?
The subway train slid

"Hey Cadence, you found me fast." Ophelia chuckled.
We both turned to the stage set up at the other end of the room to see the headmaster, Augustus VonGericht. The students went dead silent when he spoke.

"Thank you all for coming here, and thank you new students for coming to Shard Academy. We hope that you will learn many things in these next six years." he started. "You are all shards that make up something big; no one is more or less important than others. Now, for the first order of business. On your notes, if you see the Shard Academy application, then you will see that you have a schedule, a map, and a curfew. New students will all get a week to familiarize themselves with these things and will be forgiven for any accidents that happen, but once the week was up, we'll expect no more accidents. was that clear?"
There were scattered responses but the only understandable one was a really loud, "Yes sir!"
Someone's enthusiastic... I thought. I glanced at Ophelia and our eyes met, seems like we had the same thought. We both snickered.
"Now then, there's not much that I can explain that your notes can't, so I'll let Marisol explain clubs and classes and then you can get to know each

Blood is a fascinating hue. It’s sometimes crimson, scarlet, ruby red, or even bold red. Crimson is the stain that’s painted on my fingers, since I just accomplished a mission-to murder Simon Krell, who continued torturing his family members on a daily basis. Although he continued being a dangerous man, it was so simple to kill him that it occurred to be laughable, all the acting skills I needed was to pretend to act alike his maid and suddenly shoot the filthy person. As I laughed, my storm eyes gazed at the glowing sky that had waves of gleaming dots on it. A silver ellipse remained framed in the inky sky, supported with millions of winking balls of fire.…

In the event of a Zombie apocalypse devastating my school, I would have the time of my life living out every girl's dream of becoming the essence of Katniss Everdeen. In order to survive, I would need quality running shoes as I would need to constantly be on the move. Blisters could be the end of me, so bandages would also be necessary. My food and water would come sporadically through foraging, but I would make sure to have the supplement "GU" because it is specifically formulated for distance runners, and thus would fill in any gaps in my hydration or nutrition needs that might arise. A black Morphsuit would also assist my survival. I would be nearly undetectable, allowing me to safely slink through the shadows, looking for new sources of…

I walked out of Miss Shnyzer’s office. It had been about an hour ago that Toby Kavner, my name, was called over the loudspeaker. I walked over to my mates, Max Lavell, Jimmy Cass and Dylan Dolan, who were tossing their apples over the wrought iron fence. They are too busy cracking jokes about some homework. I plump down beside Max and start crunching down on my ovalteenies.…

When the carriage stopped in front of the townhouse, Boudreaux bid us a good night, and informed us, I felt more for me, than Louis, that he was leaving first thing next morning and traveling to his plantation to oversee the planting. We wished him well and parted ways. I felt Boudreaux’s eyes on me as we walked inside. After we went inside, Louis said that he wished he had told Ransom that he was leaving within the week and going back to Barbados; the unrest there was threatening the cane crop. Although I would miss my husband, I breathed a sigh of relief that he would not be home long and that he had not told Boudreau.…

At about 7:00 am, I was at home, wishing I didn’t have to go class. I was becoming a downer, and never like to pour my poison for others to sip on.
