Sexualizing A Child's Body
There is a large dispute between whether or not schools have the right to say what kids wear. Opinions fly everywhere that telling a child what to wear is sexualizing their bodies or if it is teaching them to dress more professional. Also, that parents should have the right to say what their kid wears, not the administrators.
Sexualizing a child’s body is unacceptable. Instead of teaching girls and boys mathematics and literature “schools are enforcing arbitrary and sexist rules that teach them to be ashamed of their bodies” (Jessica Valenti). If the child is confident in what they are wearing then they should not be criticized for it. Yet schools are teaching them that you will always be criticized for how you express yourself and be seen
