Sexual Abuse Case Summary
C is a 16-year-old female who is referred to treatment by social services due to a prevalence of physical, mental, emotional, and sexual abuse occurring in her home. The client is living with her mother. C is pregnant with her second child and became pregnant after being raped by her father. The client’s first child, who has Down syndrome, is living with C’s grandmother, according to C; however, C reports that social services believes the child lives with her and her mother. The client has been recently kicked out of public school and is considering attending an alternative school geared towards GED preparation. C is an only child who lives primarily with her mother. Her father is intermittently present. C’s mother does not work and C reports her mother watches TV all day. C reports that she does the cooking and cleaning in the household. If she does not cook or clean, the client reports her mother becomes angry …show more content…
The client states that she does not know much about her father as he does not stay in the house for long. The client states that her mother has done nothing to stop the abuse. Both of the client’s children are the result of her father’s sexual abuse. It is unclear whether the client’s grandmother who is caring for C’s oldest daughter is aware of the sexual abuse occurring in the home. C is currently pregnant due to this sexual abuse. C’s father is not currently in the household and has been absent for an undetermined amount of time. It was explained to the client that sexual abuse is not acceptable and that this falls within the realm of confidentiality that we had discussed earlier. Since her father is currently absent from the home with no knowledge of when he will return; our agency will work with social services, child protective services, and also the alternative school C is considering attending, in order to locate adequate housing options for
