Romeo and Juliet
My theme for Romeo and Juliet is that children can disobey their parents if they have a justifiable reason. I chose this theme because Romeo and Juliet obviously really loved each other. Why not let them be happy. Love if a justifiable reason to go behind their parents backs. The least important point in this theme is when Romeo goes to the Capulets party. At first Romeo did want to go, due to the fact that before he seen Juliet he was loved Rosaline and she was a Capulet. With a little encouragement Mercutio talked Romeo into going. “Nay, gentle Romeo we must have you dance.” After they get to the party, that’s when Romeo sees Juliet, but he doesn’t know at that point that she was a Capulet. When the nurse tells Juliet Romeo was a Montague, things went from there. Next would be Juliet arguing with her parents, mostly her dad, about marring Paris. Juliet doesn’t even know Paris and when she meets him she doesn’t like him anyways. “He shall not make me there a joyful bride.” Juliet is in love with Romeo the minute she lays eyes on him at the Capulet party. Instead her parents are forcing her to marry Pairs later that week. That’s why her and Romeo have to act fast. The biggest and the most important point to this theme is when Juliet marries Romeo. They only did it behind their parents backs because they both knew none of them would agree to it. The nurse and Friar Lawrence were the only two people to help, to make it happen. Romeo was waiting with Friar Lawrence while the nurse told Juliet that she was to go to “confessions.” In all reality it was an excuse so they could get married. It all works out the way it was planned and they get married. After that Romeo kills Tybalt, Juliet’s cousin, and gets banished. When the nurse finds out she tells Juliet and they make a plan to spend their honeymoon together that night before he must leave. Juliet gives the nurse a ring to give to Romeo when she goes to tell him the plan. “Here sir, a ring she bid me give
