Romeo and Juliet
Romeo and Juliet In life, people make choices that not only are unbeneficial to them, but are also unbeneficial to others too. In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet’s tragic death occurs. Although it may seem like it was their fault, three minor characters also contributed to the star-crossed lovers’ tragic deaths. Mercutio, the Nurse and Friar Laurence were also to blame (Infinitive). One of the characters, who may not have seemed a significant figure in the play, did have an important role in the tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Mercutio, forced Romeo into going to the Capulet’s party, there, Romeo met Juliet, and fell in love with her. If Romeo had not been forced to go to the party, he would have never met Juliet therefore, he would have never feel in love with her and it would have never ended in such a tragic way(Infinitive). Also, Mercutio played a role in Romeo and Juliet’s death, because Mercutio fights with Tybalt and dies. Then, Tybalt dies as a result of Romeo killing him, which causes Romeo to be banished from Verona. As soon as Romeo is banished from Verona, some plans go wrong which causes the death of Romeo and Juliet. Their deaths would not have occurred in such a tragic manner if Mercutio along with other minor characters were not involved. In addition to Mercutio playing a role in Romeo and Juliet’s death, the Nurse also played a large part in their tragic deaths. Juliet’s nurse arranged the marriage between Romeo and Juliet then kept the marriage a secret even though she had many opportunities to tell Juliet’s parents. If the Nurse would have told Juliet’s parents about the marriage to Romeo, her parents would not have had her marry Paris. Another reason the Nurse played a role in their deaths was because when Juliet was desperate for guidance after her parents told her that she had to marry Paris, but the Nurse basically said that she should listen to her parents and marry Paris, and to forget about
