Thank you for making the decision to come to the Reproductive Specialty Clinic. When considering what you were asking, we wanted to take into account all members involved and how it would impact them. First we considered all the stakeholders; you both as the parents, the child, and the Clinic. We also considered how this may impact future patients and how the future of genetically modifying embryos would be impacted by our decision. When deciding as to whether or not the Reproductive Specialty Clinic would comply with your family’s request and use a deaf embryo for implantation, the ethical framework we used was Utilitarianism. Utilitarianism is a framework that is based on doing the greatest good for the greatest number of people. You both…

For my research and message planning assignment, I chose to look further into Planned Parenthood as a non-profit organization. Planned Parenthood is an organization that has been around for over 100 years, as it was founded in October of 1916. Some of the many resources that are offered at these facilities are free or cheap access to women’s reproductive health- including papsmears, mammograms, and STD checks. Other services offered are access to abortion and contraception for all women; this is where the negative perception comes into play. It’s been a long and ongoing battle with separation of church and state, but somehow the the morality issues still play such a damaging role in the perception of what Planned Parenthood is really providing.…

I learned about general procedures regarding how to approach a patient with post-operative complications. I learned how to effectively decide which assessments are priority, as well what signs and symptoms posed specific concern in such a scenario. I thought I had done quite well for some part; however, there was a situation in which I did not act as I should have.…

When I began my master program, I was not sure how Second Life (SL) virtual learning environment (VLE) could impact my learning experience at Chamberlain. After completing several tasks in virtual learning environment, I began to see why SL was introduce to me in this program. Using the virtual learning environment has many benefits for nursing. The apparent benefit is patient safety. The second life grants a nurse or student the possibility to participate in the virtual learning environment, allowing the skills learned to be applied without having to worry about harming the patient if a mistake is made. A good example was written by Ludlow (2015), that paramedics in a virtual learning environment, were provided a scenario of multiple victims…
