Reflection On My Writing Class
When I was in my high school, the thought of writing an essay always scared me.No matter how hard I tried I never got better at it and eventually I was always stuck with a C. I did not like my writing class because I thought writing was not made for people like me and C was the highest grade I could ever get. So, I just tried to complete my papers as quickly as possible and rather focused on other subjects. I never actually tried to improve or find my weaknesses in my writing. I just wanted to get over withmy writing class. But my journey to writing did not end even after graduating high school. I had to take WRIT 101 class for my first semester and I had no other choice. I was nervous before joining this class. But now, it is almost the end of this semester and I am glad that I could make it this far, achievingmore than what I had expected. Though I had some trouble with the papers that I wrote at the beginning and made many mistakes, I managed to write a highly satisfactory argument essay at the end. I was able to achieve great result by developing this paperas a process and by utilizing the allocated time properly. I would have never been able to work upon my weaknesses in writing a paper if I had not joined this class. I joined this class with a very little knowledge in …show more content…
I have written three papers this semester and with every paper, I have learned something new that has made meable to improve my following papers. So, of all the three papers “The Argument Paper”, which was the last paper, has been the best paper that I have written this semester. I have properly utilized the time allocated for this paper. The Argument Paper made me realized my weaknesses in writing. It taught me that completing an essay in one sitting is never a good idea. Writing is a process with many steps. It includes brainstorming, planning, drafting, reviewing, revising, editing, proofreading, which takes time and the result is worth the time

I am not going to use that as excuse or even a crutch I have had it long enough that I know how to work through it. Now that I have taken Writing 101s I have leaned a lot of structure and discipline and my writing has come a long way even though it is not perfect. I still…

Over the course of the past three months, I have had the distinct pleasure of testing my writing capabilities through the Introduction to College Writing course. I have always had a passion for writing in all forms, but in previous years, the course work in grade-level English classes have been unchallenging of my writing ability. I have been heavily involved in Bonneville High School’s newspaper through journalism since my freshman year. This allowed me to strengthen my writing capability as I was drafting throughout the entire school year. I have never truly had to apply myself until I enrolled in English 101. Since the beginning of the class, I have faced various hardships while writing essays in unfamiliar styles, such as drafting a response to a scholarly article and synthesizing opposing perspectives. I have learned that I am more than capable in writing in different styles and that all of my work will be quality content regardless of the topic. I overcame the obstacles that have challenged me, and my essays exhibit that I am fully prepared to continue my work in English 102.…
