When Mr. Albina opened the topic about doing an Outreach Program, I thought that it was just a drawing. A big beautiful drawing that I can only imagine but can 't really do and I 'm really guilty about that thought because I already judge something that I didn’t even try to do. But as the day goes by, Mr. Albina really wanted us to do it because he really wants to help, serve and at the same time share our knowledge to other people. He made plans to push the program and as the president of the class, I followed every instruction he 'd given me and I saw myself doing his every words with happiness. I felt excited as day goes by. And I realize that Mr. Albina really meant to be my Professor to help me get out of my shell and show people that I can really help and that I can really lead. The fact that it is my first time to ever organize an Outreach Program and the first time to lead an event that my fellow schoolmates follow every instruction I said.

I feel so blessed. I feel so happy and fulfilled because for all the first time that I 've done it went to a success not only for me but for everyone and because I knew that I made a good deed for other people. I believe that giving is the reason why we feel blessed at some times. You give way for the incoming blessing to come in your life by giving and sharing your blessing to others. And I

Throughout the past few years I have taken part in many projects and activities to foster education and global engagement. The most recent is my upcoming outreach trip to the Agnes Zabali Boys and Girls Club. This trip was planned by myself, 3 other education students and our faculty supervisor. The purpose of this trip is to provide support for the Agnes Zabali Boys and Girls Club (AZBGC). As Education students, we are taking this opportunity to provide daily lessons for the children who visit the Boys and Girls Club. We started the planning in September and we have put in over 120 hours since then in order to make this trip as beneficial for the children at the AZBGC. Apart of this planning, we have raised funds to help support the children's’ education costs. While planning for this outreach trip, I decided to partner with a local grade seven class to teach them about social justice. Their classroom teacher told me that with the recent media attention in the USA she is having difficulty teaching her students about justice and discrimination. We decided to partner together to teach both the Ugandan Children as well as the Canadian grade seven class about what it is like to live in a different part of the world. This partnership will entail writing letters to each other as well as creating a video about life in each of their respective locations.…

Every Friday during the semester, I made my way to an elementary school to participate with the Adopt-A-School program; which was apart of an educational initiative for my sorority. The mission of the Adopt-A-School program represents a tremendous opportunity to positively affect the lives of students, teachers, and volunteers. My chapter chose to adopt Berg Jones Elementary School in Monroe, Louisiana. This was an inner city school that ranged from Pre-K to grade 5, and included about 500 students. Through my two years of volunteering, I was rewarded with such a gratifying experience as well as some encouragement of what I wanted to do as a career in the future.…

Reflection allows an individual to identify the reasons or purpose of understanding the outcome of a particular situation in depth in term of emotions on thought and feeling on the topic area. In addition, Reflection is something that we do implicitly as part of being human, underpinning our identities through a process of negotiation between our sense of self and our experiences of others (Demetriou, 2000, p.210). Therefore, I have implemented this quote in my professional and personal goals I wanted and have achieved thought-out the process of the module. I have made continues effort in building my confidence in situations that I have felt uncomfortable in.…

You feel satisfied when you can do something for others. One thing I have accomplished that has given me a great satisfaction was to go to my native country, Cuba, when my grandmother was ill. Even though I had a hard economic situation at that time, I did almost the impossible and went to be with my grandma in her last days, I took her the medicine and food that she needed, but the most important thing: I gave…

When they do not understand the needs of others, trouble can occur like it did in the article “One Day In The Life of A Part-Time Teacher”. Whenever the directors of the institution canceled both of Mrs. Clator’s English classes, their decision ended up affecting and causing problems in the student’s schedules. Also, that choice hurt the teacher as well, since her only other source of income for the rest of the summer would come from tutoring and doing some free-lance journalism. However, didn’t let these discouraging events stop her from helping others around her achieve their aspirations. During this difficult transition, she helped her African American pupil, Julia, prepare for her final English composition test which would help Julia become a nurse (279). Since individuals have such a significant role in the community and lives of others, people should recognize that role these individuals play. That would give them a sense of significance within their area of expertise, which would in turn boost their self esteem. Indeed, a community does benefit when the people within are working together for the common purpose of increasing productivity as…

Before transferring to Georgian Court University, I had already attended two other colleges. I lived in a dorm my freshmen year at Ramapo and decided that was not for me. After leaving Ramapo, I decided to take a few semesters at Brookdale Community College in order to fulfill some requirements while deciding where exactly was the right place for myself to continue with my education. After searching through many brochures and getting first hand details about schools from people I am acquainted with, I was overcome with joy when I found Georgian Court. Since I am double majoring in both English and Education, it is hard to find schools that offer the two as a pair as well as offer the special endorsement for teaching students with disabilities. Georgian Court is also one of the top teaching schools, with a very high rate of job placement after graduation, which was another thing that captivated me. The economy is very unpredictable at this point in time and it is only plausible to choose the very best school to go to that is well known for the extraordinary practices in the field of study you want to pursue. Here at Georgian Court I have found everything I have been looking for.…

I have been working at ... for about a month now, I have made great relationships with the children in my class. I noticed the one girl in particular has become quite attached to myself. Another member of staff explained to me that she has quite severe attachment issues because of her home life. She explained that I should not allow this child to be so attached to myself, as she will always rather be with adults, that I should encourage her to play with other children in her class. I found this quite difficult trying to distance myself, whenever I was working with other children this young girl would always want to join in or just have a chat with me. It was very difficult for me to have to tell her that she needed to play with the other children. I know the young girl had defiantly picked up on my different behaviour with her and this distressed me quite a bit.…
