Raccoon On The Road Research Paper
One day we found this raccoon on the side of the road and so we named him Timothy. Timothy loved playing with the squirrels in his free time. He also loved to lie in the road and get a nice breeze when a car went by. Timothy was my closest friend, we always played with his stick that was in the road and I even threw rocks to him and he would catch them. Then one day we came by to see if he was lying in the middle of the road, and he was so we left him there to get a good breeze from some cars. Then on our way back from fishing we were following this gray truck and Timothy was in the road getting his breeze and the gray truck just hit him. Everyone will remember the day Timothy got hit by the big gray truck. The next day we all came back

The American Staffordshire Terrier (also known as Pit Bull) is believed to be a man-eating beast. But is this breed all it's made out to be? The Pit Bull started in the Unites States; it has been developed since the early 1800's as a result of crosses between the bulldogs of that time and game terriers. This type of dog was instrumental in the success of farmers and settlers who developed this country. They were used for general farm work, hunting wild pigs, bears, and other large game, guarding the homestead, and general companionship. A number of the early ancestors were also developed for…

“Prairie dogs have a significant effect on biological diversity in prairie ecosystems. More than 200 species of wildlife have been associated with prairie dog towns, with over 140 species benefitting directly…” (Williams 34). Terry Tempest Williams, author of the book “Finding Beauty in a Broken World,” delivers a strong argument as to why prairie dogs should be protected. Prairie dogs contribute to the welfare of animals around them in many ways. They create diversity, kinship and community. Williams also states, “They embody two million years of evolving intelligence” (Williams 33). They are social creatures, and they all live in towns and villages. They kiss when they greet each other, as a way of distinguishing one from another. Once recognized,…

The term “road rage” was coined in the USA in the 1980s by a police officer after he pulled over a motorist who shot another driver who cut him off (Sunrise Digest, 1988). Road rage is currently defined as intentionally participating in risky driving behaviors that are known to increase the likelihood of a crash. Previous definitions of road rage did not include intent. This definition change shows that road rage is something that one chooses to do instead of unconsciously doing it. Two forms of road rage have been identified: mild and severe. Mild forms of road rage include obscene gestures and name calling. Severe forms of road rage include threats, physical confrontation, and murder. Certain road conditions, like construction or a detour,…
