Personal Narrative: Nickels
My sister Valerie was the firstborn. We call her "Kitty" because of her obsession for bringing home stray cats. She has dark brown hair that she usually keeps cut just above her shoulders. She bosses us younger kids around and snitches on us if we're bad, so we never rely on her for keeping secrets.

Fourteen months after Kitty arrived, my brother Nicholas was born. His nickname is Nickels because he always has coins jingling in his pants pocket. His brown hair had a slight wave to it, and he grew up to be six foot two inches tall. He loved roaming the hills around our house and took our hound dogs with him everywhere.

Thirteen months after Nickels was born, my sister Ivareen arrived. We call her Ivy. She has a petite build

The values that I hold most deeply are friendships, family, and happiness. Values are things that are important in the way I live and work and I believe all of these things play a major role in my life. Since I was a little kid, my values have changed tremendously. Back then, my values would've been playtime, mac & cheese, and chicken nuggets. I believe values mature as you grow and mine definatly did. For example, when I was younger I remember being friends with everyone, but now I only have a select number of friends. This represents values to me. My values inform my actions by them always being my first thought while making a decision. They always play a role in my…

For a few summers after my daddy went to heaven, I found myself taking long walks into the woods, a far piece behind the back of my house. When I was young I’d play there every day and over time the trails grew wide. I knew those chaotic mazes as well as my own reflection in the Miner’s River. Sometimes I’d count the steps it took to reach a fork on a specific trail, having already decided which trail to take till I arrived.…

Seeing the magical world of Harry Potter light up the silver screen again. Standing in the same room as the Pop Punk band All Time Low. Cracking open the pages of the Norse Gods in Rick Riordan’s Magnus Chase and The Gods of Asgard: The Hammer of Thor. Studying in my dorm room away from home. Why on earth would anyone want to miss out on these things? You see, I struggled with the question what makes life worth living for a long time, I knew that I was pushing on for something, but I could never find the words. I found my answer slowly, adding things that I was living for to the list until I realized that life was worth living for the small things, for the things in the future that you will miss out on if you leave early.…

It was a perfectly normal Saturday night, until I sat on the couch. I expected to enjoy a funny movie with my dad, but instead I got a trip to the hospital. I sat on the couch, and then I felt a sting in my elbow. At first, it felt like I got a shot at the doctor, but it slowly got worse, and felt more like a knife slicing into my elbow. I winced and sprung up from the couch. I squinted and my eyes scanned the spot where I just sat down. Aha, I thought. There was a small piece of plastic, and it looked like it broke off from a container.…

When I was made I was bright and shiny, but the man who was carrying me was careless and dropped me accidentally. I was sad. No one saw me and walked over me, without noticing me. Soon my shine also faded away. Days passed and I still lay in the corner unnoticed. But one day a girl’s eyes fell on me. She took me in her hand and kept me in her pencil box. Her name was Smita. This new place was nice, cool, safe and better for me. I lived there very comfortably. I passed two to three days in this box . Whenever Smita used to open her pencil box she used to see me smiling. After seeing me she was thinking something in her mind. One day Smita got a five rupees coin. She kept the coin beside me. When she removed her leg. I got some relief and took some breath . What bad day it was! There was also Smita’s brother ;Arun; who was naughty and never used to listen anyone .
