Personal Narrative: My Seven Habits
My Seven Habits Profile indicates that I am very good in the areas of Seek First To Understand, Then To Be Understood, Being Proactive, and my weakest area was Sharpening The Saw. I began my career in social work, a profession built almost entirely on one’s ability to listen and empathize with those who need help. As a leader, I practice the strategies of empathic listening, working diligently to understand what others are saying. I realize that most of what my followers say comes from their non verbals and their tone, rather than their actual words. Before offering a solution or opinion, I ensure that I understand what they are really saying and try to see the issue from their point of view. The second habit I scored well
