Cell phones: Educational Tools or Disrupting Agents ?
Cell phones have become omnipresent. Everyone use them everywhere. Specifically, they are very popular among students during school, where they should be learning and interacting with other students. The allowance of cellphones in school has been on debate during the last years. Although cell phones can be useful tools, schools should not opt to allow cell phones in class, because they can also have several negative impacts on students, such as distracting, increasing bullying, and leading to cheating.

Whereas other students use their cell phones inappropriately. Today’s adolescents waste a lot of time using their phones, instead of doing productive things that will benefit them. “Today's young adults are texting at unprecedented rates, with recent studies indicating that they send and receive about 200 texts a day and spend over six hours a day using technologies such as Facebook, text messaging, instant messaging, email and Internet search engines” (Schoenberg). They do not use cell phones wisely, instead of viewing them as educational tools, they view them as entertainment.
In conclusion, when considering all of the negative impacts on students as a result of using their cell phones during class, there is no doubt that schools should not opt to allow them. It is proven that cell phones are not beneficial to students in school, they are a major distraction for students, leading them to poor academic performance. A large percentage of schools around the country do not have the infrastructure to support digital learning, and not all of the students come from families which have good economic possibilities that can afford
