Professional Athletes Too Much
Professional athletes need a reality check on how important they really are to society. Prescott will make $680,848 this year, with bonuses added to his $450,000 base salary. Making this amount of money for simply playing a game is outrageous. The question shouldn’t be are professional athletes making enough, but rather: are they making too much?
United States Marines are fighting for our country, but according to the 2012 military pay charts, a Marine in his first four months as an E-1, earns $1,379 a month, or $16,548 a year. Due to the fact that they are fighting for our freedom, this amount of money is ridiculous. Nfl players are simply playing a game. Having this is be a minimal fine proves they are practically making billions on billions, therefore thousands is nothing for them. The median household income in Baltimore is $41,819, but the city's high cost of living requires $12,078 more than that for a person to live comfortably according to a 50-30-20 budget.
