Many individuals have their arguments in support of each side. However, no definite decision has been determined in this matter. Imagine spending hours and hours a week working as hard as you can at a very hard task and getting almost nothing in return. This is what college athletes go through when they voluntarily play for their school. More of their time is spent on their sport per week than on education. Some of the college sports require very hard mental and physical work that could possibly result in a future career. Also collegiate sport organizations have millions to even billions of dollars that could be spared for the players that help keep it going. This is why I think college athletes should receive compensation for their skills. It would help the players continue on in life if they don't proceed of career in being a professional athlete and they work too hard to not get paid.…

Every time an athlete plays their sport they are risking an injury, but they are most likely not getting forced to play. Although some people might get forced by family or friends, most people are playing college sports by choice. Even though athletes are participating by choice and putting themselves in danger; they are helping each program be successful and college athletics wouldn’t be anywhere without the athletes. The coaches get paid a lot of money, but the team would not exist without the players. College sports teams would still be able to function without coaches even though they might not function very well. Another problem is that it would be very hard to determine how much each athlete should be paid. If pay was based on performance it would cause a lot more stress in college sports, which isn’t right because they are ultimately meant for entertainment for the athletes and viewers. If college athletes get paid based on how old they are and what school they go to, it might make them lose heart and make them forget what is really important. It would be a shame if they stopped pouring their heart out every single game if money got involved. These athletes should be paid based on their performance and it would not be a problem because they would try harder than ever and college sports would be even more competitive than they are…

Well...Well...Well...Look at what we have here. Many students some who may want to become college athletes. But guess what? You are not going to get paid. Why is it that determined college athletes do not get paid, while other people with a job do? College athletes wake up everyday, to work day and night, practicing the sport they specialize in. I'm positive these athletes dedicate nearly all of their work and time for this sport, however do not get rewarded for it. Similar to when you work for your ignorant manager, yet they keep the money for themselves and do not pay you. This exemplifies how college athletes feel when they lay foot on to the court, the field, or the ice. This is not fair, and college athletes must be paid because they work with determination comparable to professional athletes, maybe even to a greater extent, since they also have to balance their school schedule. As a result, college athletes deserve to be paid for all the effort…

Playing sports not only conditions the body, but also builds social skills, confidence and skills required in everyday living. Take playing basketball for example, in order to play, you must learn how to dribble the ball, how to shoot and most importantly, how to pass the ball to your team mate with success. This builds teamwork by showing that working together will achieve much more than working alone. When playing sport, the results may not be as important as the experience you would have gained, which will greatly influence your life quality and the way you handle things. Sport teaches us basic principles of daily life which are required to succeed in a job too. Passing the ball to a team mate to win as a team is like working with your colleagues to succeed at work, shooting a goal is like doing your part for the team and dribbling the ball past the opposition is like overcoming hurdles you will face in your life.…

filled with competing students. Yes, it is true that studies are the most important pillar for student’s good future but sports is equally important. Regular participation in sport activities will help a student to keep his/her body fit and mind fresh. If students are involved in sports then they will know what they’re good at, because there is a very good career in sports too and they may even choose to follow that career. Colleges spend too much money for libraries but hesitate to spend money for sports but it is not healthy to do so even biologically because if a student only studies and doesn’t take part in any sports activities then his mind automatically becomes dull and all that he has studied might not get inside his head, which will be useless.…
