Process of writing
"My writing" Writing is a long, complicated process, which requires a lot of effort, while it seldom yields the feeling of relief and pride. As the result, many students, including myself, perceive writing as an arduous task which has to be carried out from the first day of school. In this paper, I would like to consider why writing skill is so difficult to acquire and to point some of the most common difficulties which students have to deal with the writing task. In the first place, I would like to consider the problem with the moment of starting writing. Undeniably, we have all experienced that moment when we sit to write and nothing comes to our mind, not even a word. Sitting and staring at the page, wondering what to say, searching for the language, we try to find a way to communicate with the unseen reader. Despite of the learning to writing starts at a primary school, many students struggle with the problem of correct writing which continues during their entire life. Secondly, there is a problem with planning, organizing, expressing, and elaborating ideas in writing. During this process we must have the flexibility, concentration, and fluency to produce a high-quality text. Writers must juggle all of these items simultaneously. Naturally, if we perceive only one or two features, it is likely to destroy the whole writing process. That is why, before the task, the writer should take task, purpose, and audience into careful consideration, choosing words, information, structures, and formats deliberately. My next point is the aspect of a tight deadline as well as the lack of the capacity to revisit and make improvements to a piece of writing. After a finished work, the writer is checked by the examiner or the teacher, according to the Criterion-Referenced Assessment, but besides these regulations there are also one 's private unwritten criteria. Thereby, writing becomes even more difficult task to deal with. In this part of the task, writers

My writing process all depends on what I am writing. Some writings I can sit down and write the whole things and be done with it, while others can take me multiple days or even weeks. I normally sit down and work on it until I finish, get tired of it, or a hit a roadblock. I try to stop when I feel like I am writing the same thing over and over or if I feel like I just need a break. Most of the time, if I feel like I am writing and it is really bad, it is because it is and I need to take a break and come back to it later. Working on it in pieces normally works well for me, to break it up and take it a little bit at a time. I normally struggle when I do not like what I am writing about or when I run out of information to put in my writing. I…

In “Cognition, Convention, and Certainty: What We Need to Know Writing” the author Patricia Bizzell explains what we need to know about writing. Initially, Bizzell states that that there is a “writing problem”. She says that we are just now realizing that it is actually a thinking problem where we used to take student thinking for granted. The author then explains that there are two opposing theoretical camps that see writing differently. The first camp sees writing as inner-directed which focusses on the structure of language-learning and thinking process prior to social influence.…

As she addresses those STEM students who believe writing skills not to be useful, she takes a direct, yet casual approach toward the matter. She supports her claims in her own article by following her own advice: “Learning to write well – clearly, effectively, and quickly – should be an important component of every undergraduate education”. Moreover, the length of her article also helps her purpose: short and sweet. This combination of factors helps her article sound more convincing and appealing. Nevertheless, of the still possible aversion toward writing skills one might have, it becomes extremely hard to ignore the importance of writing, hence MacPhail successfully communicated her idea towards her audience.…

In the essays ‘Writing and its Rewards’ Richard Marius says that “writing is hard work, and although it may become easier with practice it is seldom easy”. Writing is not an easy task to do. It needs lots of patience and hard work. Good writers writes first draft then review it, if they don’t get satisfied they write it again. Even small piece of work can take large amount of time. Sometimes writers need loneliness so that they can think well. Success is not fixed always, all writers fail sometimes. But they try again and again; they test their writing every time and try to improve it.…

The art of writing is a unique skill that requires the writer to have great flexibility and be open to improvement. Some may consider themselves a “perfect writer”, when in reality, no one is, and will ever be. Writing is a process that requires one to continuously build on skills learned in previous situations, applying new techniques and strategies to future writing projects. Different settings require different writing styles, and with that being said, one must be willing to change their writing skills to suit the requirements of their current setting. In the following essay I will reflect on past writing assignments, identifying my best and worst writing courses, strengths and weaknesses as a writer, and my opinion on why writing may or may not be beneficial to me throughout my career.…

My writing process has always been a frustrating one. I like writing, but I don't think I'm very good at it. When I was younger, I loved letting my creative side shine by writing silly stories and pretending I was Stephen King, using words that I didn't even understand. My dad read me Shel Silverstein's books of poems and and drawings. Those books inspired me so much to write and to draw and be creative on a blank sheet of paper.…

As I mentioned that I hated writing a few years ago, since I did not consider that writing is an interesting thing. Since I learned English all the compositions that I wrote in school time were the simple “description” of the information that I had been given, which implied that I could only rephrase others’ ideas. And what was worse, that terrible situation did not change till I went to the international high school in Shanghai (CIC).…
