Positive Behavior Supports
Many special needs classes have found that implementing positive reinforcement in inclusive education has shown remarkable results. When people are genuinely positive, they have better outlooks and results in all parts of life, including education and friends. “Despite limited attention from researchers and practitioners, SWPBS (School Wide Positive Behavior Supports) has potential to positively affect inclusive school reform and outcomes for students with severe disabilities.”(Enyart). Positive reinforcement has a direct correlation to the behavior of children. When a child is put into inclusion they learn how to act around others they don’t know as well, they learn how to control themselves better, and become aware of the classroom setting.

The different distant settings that exsist play a major role in the everyday functionality of classrooms and learning enviroments.     I am a witness to that statement because it helped my sons tremendously. They did not feel as if they were different and I saw an improvement in their behavior and grades.     At Upshire school children are rewarded for displaying positive behaviour. The children are in house teams which are represented by both a name of a famous painter and a colour i.e. Salvador Dali - black bead.     Positive Behavior Support (PBS) is not a modification plan for students with difficult behaviors; it is a system for modifying the environment; as well as the way that teachers respond to these difficult behaviors. "Such environmental interventions, in turn, serve to make problem behavior less effective, efficient, and relevant and desired behavior more functional" (http://www.ldonline.org ). Teachers first should utilize a functional behavioral assessment in order to determine if there may be different reasons for similar behaviors.
