Persuasive Letter For Self Check Out
Everybody likes a short line for the check-out. Nobody would like to wait 5-8 minutes to buy their items and there's only two to three lanes open. To introduce myself, I am Noalani De La Hoya and I am in 8th grade student at Silver Hills Middle School. I often go to your store because it's really close by. Your store is located in a lot of neighborhoods and get a lot of customers. But the only problem is that every time that I go there's a lot of people in the lines.

The purpose of this letter is to discuss a little issue that your store has. Your store should at least put in some self check out or put more employees on registers. The time that Safeway is most busy is around 12 pm. I know what you're thinking you don't have a lot of employees to put on the checkouts lanes, but it will really help if you put in some self check out. When it is really busy there are only three or four checkouts open. Do want to reach more customers? I sure your answer is yes. Then open more checkouts or put in some self checkouts. Some people have the patience to wait in a long line so it's only a little problem. I asked around even the people that I asked agree too that there should be more employees on the checkouts. Your store will have more customers because there will

After all, Safeway is nearby a lot of restaurants and stores. But it is the only store that you can buy groceries that's really nearby. I think your store has an advantage it is in a good location. I understand that sometimes your store might not have a lot of workers. It would be faster too, if add in some self check out. It would be really useful because some customers only have a little bit of stuff to buy an they don't have to wait in long lines. It would also really benefit Safeway because more customers would come because of the short wait to buy their stuff. I am a customer at Safeway it would better if they have more

Traditional grocery stores have fallen by the wayside as supercenters and specialty food stores grow. They are increasingly looking for ways to differentiate themselves from the rest of the competition. Oftentimes, the supercenters are able to offer lower prices on food while offering a sizeable selection of other goods that food-only grocery stores find it hard to compete with. Some of these changes have come by mergers and the ability to purchase more for less and changing their appeal in the market. These stores have implemented new technologies such as self-checkouts and biometric technology that allows people to pay at the checkout with a scan of their finger to sway the consumer with convenience. Grocery stores are also differentiating themselves by touting their store brands, as premium goods as opposed to the well know value brands. They are changing their layouts and up scaling their stores to meet customers demands for a reason to enter their retail dwellings. Some groceries are offering even more convenience with the addition of specialty offerings such as Starbucks and fast food restaurants.…

    Costco Executive Summary

By offering diverse products, there is more foot traffic from customers as Costco appeals to its customers as a “one-stop shop”. Costco has set up their store as a one-way enter to a one-way exit, as well as strategically placing certain products around the store as a strategy to get the customer to explore each aisle. This serves as a way for their checkout lines to not overflow from quick shopping, buying cashiers time to process each customer and provide excellent customer service. But as people start to fill in to lines, the wait times begin to expand. From here, we saw two different things happen. During our observation time, when lines became overwhelmingly long, another cashier would open up a lane which created less stress on existing lines that were long. This helped customer satisfaction and decreased wait times. We also saw as a result from long lines, a new cashier would replace a working cashier. This gave the previous cashier a break, also allowing a fresh set of hands to contribute to processing customers. Based off of these observations, we explored if adding an extra cashier would be most beneficial during peak hours of a…

Safeway began in 1915, in American Falls, a small town in Idaho. When M.B. Skaggs purchased a small store from his father. M.B.’s mission was to provide his customers value while keeping a narrow profit margin in order to expand. This narrow profit margin was a key strategy. M.B. was successful and by 1926 he had opened 428 stores Skaggs stores in 10 states. Soon thereafter, Skaggs merged his successful stores with Safeway (then Selig) and became Safeway, Inc., listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 1928. During the great depression, Safeway continued to focus on value for the customer and the stores continued to be profitable. Skagg was a pioneer in the grocery industry, introducing produce by the pound and “sell by” dates ensuring product freshness for the customer. These are strategies that…

    1. Since the company does not invest in technology and locate the stores in small shopping plazas, Trader Joe’s customers complain about crowded check-out lines and parking lots. One of the seven core values of the organization is to create a WOW experience in their customers. If the costumer end to end experience is not good at all, something bad they should be doing or can be improved. I will recommend updating to the industry standards, for example self check-out counters and invest in technologies to avoid making line at the store, as well as relocating as much as possible any stores with small parking lots. Looking at the Los Angeles blogger complain, I will suggest to first try to relocate the worst 5 Trader Joe’s stores.…

A grocery store is probably not the first place most people associate with entertaining stories, but in my family, there have been quite a few tales that revolve around our local Kroger. For instance, hearing my sister, Mary Jean, recount the loss of her beloved parking space when Kroger built their gas station has been the cause of much hilarity. Approximately two years ago, Mary Jean and I went to Kroger for just a few items, and found the place teeming with other shoppers. The holidays were approaching, so the lines were four or five shoppers long and more than a few of them had carts that were almost overflowing. The overhead lights were noticeably bright, compared to the overcast sky outside, and all…
