My career plans include getting my bachelors degree in nursing then obtaining a job as a registered nurse. Then after I am ready I will try to go into a specialty; preferably a pediatric nurse. In addition, I want to enter college in order for my parents to be proud of me. Both of my parents were only able to reach a certain educational point, so going to college would be a major accomplishment in our family. When I enter college, I plan to take the requirements needed to get my bachelors degree; such as Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, etc. Furthermore, since I am the eldest child in my family, I would be the first of my siblings to enter a university; which would set a good example for my younger siblings to follow. Financially I would need the scholarships since my father makes 22,000 dollars a year, and supports the five members of my family; because of this, he works long hours for very little money. I plan on using the scholarship money to pay for my tuition, books, and As a child, I would hardly see him because he got home late at night just to provide for us. Since I want to help my family out, I would like to get the scholarship in order for my parents to pay the least amount of money possible. Obtaining this scholarship would mean the world as it would be one step closer to my life

Waking up in the middle of the night coughing and gasping for air occurred on a regular basis for me as a child.
