Philosophy of Education

I believe helping students learn and grow is my purpose in life. I believe the role of the student is to attend school and learn new information that they can apply to their lives. I believe the role of the paraprofessional is to be the assistant to the teacher and provide assistance to the students. I believe the community plays a major role in education, especially the parents and guardians. Parents send their children to school to be educated and to help prepare them for life. Education helps prepare students for the real world. When students become young adults, they can help contribute to society by having a job and serving their community. Education is not going away anytime soon, so we need to look at what education really is and who is a part of the education team.

Some schools have the bus system transport the parents and guardians of the school for open houses and conferences. This way they do not have to worry about transportation. Some schools provide babysitting options so that they do not have to worry about finding or paying for a babysitter. Students do not always have the supplies they need for school.

The community plays a vital role in the education system. Parents and guardians need to be involved in their child's education. The students do better in school when they have support from their families. When students have a safe environment to learn in than efficient learning can happen according to behaviorism. Families can get involved by attending the school's open houses or conferences. This shows the teachers that the families really do care and want their children to succeed.
