Personal Narrative: The Drill Team
All my life I have found myself following in my sister’s footsteps. During her high school years, she was on the drill team. Therefore, I made it one of my dreams and goals to be a part of it as well. I had danced for about five years prior to trying out, and I was certain that I would make the team. After trying out, my friends and I all gathered together to open the letters which would tell us if we did or did not make the team. Unfortunately, I did not. I was devastated for several weeks after tryouts. As time passed; however, I realized how much of a blessing it was to not make that team. Not making the drill team has opened up doors to many different opportunities that I would not have had if I were a part of the team. I would not have
