Personal Narrative: I Am A Visual Learner
I am a Visual Learner, and in order for me to keep information, everything I learn has to be digest thru my eyes. I learn more by using images, pictures, colors, and maps.
For example, when I have to study for a math test. I have to review the example’s in the book, watch a video and observe the examples the teacher writes on the board.. When I study History I like to see maps or pictures. And if I were to write an essay I would rather to watch a movie after finishing reading the book.

As I said I learn by seeing something. It also helps me, to take a lot of notes and then study from them. I am very organized so I like to have all my notes in a folder, do all my homework the day it's given to me. I also ask a lot of questions.

My personal learning style is doing. I learn best from the hands on approach of getting in to a topic or job and attempting to complete it on my own. This allows me to see my mistakes and not have them be prevented before they happen, which allows me to note the problem and fix it. I find it much harder to learn using concrete experience and reflective observation. The fact that both these styles are much harder for me to learn from effects my overall learning style because of how I learn, just watching someone else complete a task is not enough for me to learn by.…

While all of the different skills that was discussed earlier would help me in my dream career, however there is a unique skill that will benefit more than the other is revision. Being a photographer the power of revision may be one of the most important skill. The photographer will need to constantly review their piece of work and try to improve on what that was wrong, if they do not revise on what was wrong then they will not understand the meaning of success. Photographer will need to know why they are doing the same mistakes over and over again so they can avoid it, especially when turning the final product. With the revision the photographer will be able to continue to learn what is needed to be done to get the best result that they want,…

There have been some challenges with drawing. For one, I got what seems to be a pretty late start, only starting to really draw my freshman year of high school, and while that may seem young to some, it seems like usually, people start to draw or to make comics when they are still in middle school. So when I did draw, it always seemed like my drawings were “falling behind” the drawings other artists of my own age group had created. After I had finished drawing something, I was always so proud of it… up until I visited the internet and saw all of the drawings that were so much better.…

During my educational journey specifically at the high school, my goal was to be a best student in our year group. But I could not achieve it. I could not achieve it because, I thought I could do all my academical alone. I could not management my time well and also reframe myself from leadership and other peer responsibilities. With this behavior, I could not have much information about what is going around on campus and the available platforms to learn and explore more.…

To start, I must be in a completely quiet place, by myself, with no distractions. Then, I will pull out my notes and start to read and analyze each set of information. While I am doing this, I will create flashcards and organize them into groups to better recognize the information. Once I am done with this, I will then review the flashcards and try to explain what each subject is. During this time, I will often use had gestures to help interpret what I am trying to describe. Usually after I have taken all of these steps, I will be prepared for the test and almost all of the information will be incorporated into my memory through the learning techniques that I possess. Based on the things that I do to prepare myself for an examination, I trust that these habits take advantage of both of the learning styles that I obtained from the two tests I had taken recently. The two results that I received were that I am a tactile and visual learner. Examples of how my study habits relate to tactile habits are that I create flashcards and organize them into groups, and that I use hand gestures to help interpret the meaning of the subject. An illustration of how my study habits relate to how I am a visual learner is that I must review the notes, charts, and pictures to help me completely perceive the information. Because I can relate to both types of…

My educational goals can be said to be broken down into three parts that are really the means to my ends which is the fourth and most important goal. First, Im working on getting good grades in every class, I want to work on having and maintaining a high competitive GPA. My second goal is to get my Bachelors in Political Science in an ideal time frame of two more years. My third goal and one that is out of my hands, one may say, is getting a scholarship. I know there is a large amount of competitive students in the school, who are well deserving of scholarships but I need this scholarship to alleviate my parents from their stress and hard work to keep up with my payments. The last and really my main goal, where my eyes are set and where I,…

My education will never be complete. This knowledge affords me the ability to grow each and every day. It teaches me to question the world and to learn from these questions. I learn through different lenses and circumstances I experience each day. At seventeen, I am nowhere near complete. I am young. I am flawed. I am naïve. What I have learned has led me down different paths in order to achieve different milestones on my own journey. I am strong. I am creative. I am poised...but most importantly I am learning. My education has allowed me to learn about myself, about others, and about the world. I am evolving through the educational process and through the effort of acquiring knowledge. I have no idea what I will learn tomorrow --some days…

My love for expression has led me to much success in my everyday life. Of course that an unlimited knowledge of writing would be impressive, but to me it would mean so much more. Writing has been like a getaway from all my problems, but in a way it has also been the solution. When I write, it feels as if I was telling the story of my life. I present myself with a problem that I am facing and make up and ending to the story as the solution to my problem. My ability to write touching essays has earned me much praise from teachers throughout my educational years. Having more talent and all the rules of writing at my disposal would be like an expressionist dream come true. This power would allow me to become a writer for the world and I would…

Picture me: a seventeen-year-old Andalusia high-schooler on the free-and-reduced lunch program. Now, picture me slowly going through the cafeteria lunch as I pile food onto my tray with a growling stomach. It’s a new school year, and I am now on reduced meals rather than free ones, but I’m only paying forty cents a day. My plate is growing exceptionally taller with steaming broccoli and chicken nuggets as I add a bit of ketchup to my plate. When I finally get to the end of the line, I type in my lunch code on the obnoxious number pad and start to zoom off to my lunch table. Instead, a sharp, “Come back!” interrupts my pace. Naturally, I’m confused, but I still look at the lunch lady with a smile-- albeit a questioning one. Apologetically, she explains herself, “You need to put your plate down and get some money from the office or something.…
