Personal Narrative: Everything Will Turn Out All Right
There is not one person out there that does not have a belief. If you accept it and you feel that it as the truth or if it exists then I belief it’s a belief. One of my many believes now is “Everything will turn out all right”. Every bad story has a happy ending, well that’s the way I see it now. Shortly after graduating high school, I began working at a hospital and I worked there for a few years, but soon things began to change as we got a new manager, people began to leave, new people came on board and shortly they began to let people go because of budget cuts. I didn’t think much about it until I was let go suddenly. At the moment I was speechless that so many thoughts were running through my head that I just walked out without saying a word.

As if things couldn’t get any worse I felt horrible thinking “why me?” Started beating myself up for it, thinking what did I do wrong or maybe I wasn’t working hard enough. Constantly thinking of what ifs. As for the new manger he felt awful and told me about a job that was hiring so I interviewed and got the job. I felt that there was a little light at the end of the tunnel. First two days of my new job were okay, but as soon as I got the hang of the workflow and got to know my new coworkers, they began to tell me horrible things about the place

These two job scenarios were a rude awakening and I realized that we should not always get to comfortable at a job or jump so quickly into a new one. Shortly after being jobless for the second time around in the same year I had low spirits, nothing going for myself, I just simply didn’t want to do anything. I lost myself. One day I met up with one of close friends and wow did she ever lecture me, but the words that gave me comfort were “Everything will turn out all right”. These small, simple words turn things around for me. I’ve always heard people say it but never put too much thought into

Now this is where I`m supposed to write “all about me”. This is where I become lost. I mean, come on. I wouldn`t know where to start. But I guess the best way to have an idea what makes me tick and what ticks me off is by checking my journal that i fill with endless ramblings about whatever and whoever catches my fleeting fancy or rage. :)…

Throughout my life I have encountered many circumstances that have shaped me into the person I am today. I was born in Moroleon, Guanajuato, Mexico. I attended school in Mexico all the way to second grade. In the summer of 2006 I moved to Cumming, Georgia. It was the hardest thing to do because I left everything that I care the most about. We lived in a trailer which was not the nicest place and in the middle of the forest. I started school at the beginning of August. I had always loved school so I was so excited for the first day. I knew it was going to be hard because I would have to conquer so many obstacles on the way. At this time the only English I knew was probably counting from one to ten and some of the colors. My Father knew some…

My mother, “Regina Hopkins,” has been a positive influence in my life. She has raised 6 kids all by herself as well as earned a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from a City College in Gainesville, Florida. My mother has been through pretty much everything a person can go through outside of war and was still able to be there and provide for all 6 of her kids. In high school, my mother wanted to play football and couldn't because she was a girl and back-in-the-day women were not allowed to play football with the guys. However, she remained strong by raising 6 kids and independently took care of all of us on her own. My mother has several qualities that I would love to develop. The first quality she has is balance; she certainly knows how to make…

During the past four years of attending Newark High School, working on MLA format was something teachers worked very hard on to teach students. Every essay written by each student had to be correctly written in MLA format or else you would fail a writing assignment. This has been taught since the start of Freshmen year of school. There was no way around this rule. From just graduating High School, I am very experienced with writing essays. In many different classes we had to write essays. We did not just write essays in English. Students had to write essays in Math, Biology, Psychology, French, History, Government, and many more classes.…

Make good decisions. Do the right thing, no matter who is watching. Those words have been repeated and instilled in my mind since I was a young child. My parents always harped on doing the right thing, and making good choices, because some decisions made at an early age can follow you into adulthood. Unfortunately, sometimes making a wrong decision only helps you to learn from the mistake. When I was 15 years old, my friend *Alyssa Brown (Pseudonym) was raped. She was my best friend and someone I care deeply about. We played volleyball together on the same team, had breakfast at the diner every Sunday, and watched movies in my basement every weekend. Like any relationship, we had our differences. At that age, many of my friends were maturing at dissimilar rates, and it was confusing to me some of the changes that were happening to their attitudes and opinions. Alyssa had an older sister *Lindsey, who was 19 at the time, and who wasn’t particularly the best behaved; she had been arrested a few times and needless to say didn’t surround herself with the best company. Alyssa couldn’t help who her sister brought around the house, and neither could I—although now I wish I could have.…

Life is full of risks. And not all risks are predictable. The first and the biggest crisis in my life happened a few days after the fifteenth birthday. I was diagnosed with a kind of cancer and took a year off from middle school to have chemotherapy after surgery. Fortunately, I was on the mend after hospitalizing for the first three months, so I received the outpatient treatment after that. Now it was time to go back to school. However, I had a lot of different thoughts running through my mind. I no longer wanted to take my life for granted. Instead, I wanted to be stronger and challenge myself. So I decided to go on to high school in the abroad. I persuaded my parents for six months and they finally agreed to let me move to New York! It was…
