The Penn State Scandal impacted many areas of the organization. From the managers not doing their part to protect those who were being abused. As a manager if an incident is reported to you it is your responsibility to make sure that the proper authority is notified, or you should at least investigate for yourself to make sure that the information that is given to you is creditable. In the case of an eyewitness account as with McQueary he did the right thing by reporting what he saw to coach Paterno. The coach felled by not reporting it directly to the police.
