Opposing Gay Marriage
Opposing Gay Marriage Nearly seventy percent of people in the United States oppose gay marriage. There are a lot of reasons why gay marriage should be opposed. Marriage is an institution between one man and one woman. Marriage is for procreation (The Divine Institution of Marriage). Gay and lesbian couples would represent a profound change in the meaning of marriage. I strongly disagree with same sex marriage because it is against the laws of nature, society and religion. First let’s look at some reasons why gay couples think they should have the right to marry. They think that denying them is a violation of religious freedom. They also think that it encourages people to have strong family values and give up high risk sexual lifestyle. …show more content…
Most religions consider homosexuality a sin. It would weaken the definition and respect for the institution of marriage. The gay lifestyle is not something to be encouraged, as a lot of research shows it leads to a much lower life expectancy, psychological disorders, and other problems. Most religions consider homosexuality a sin. Virtually every religion in the world, including the major ones in this country, considers homosexuality unacceptable. It is offensive and a swipe to the religious freedom of the majority to have to recognize a relationship they consider sinful. The legal system in the United States evolved out of the laws contained in the bible. We should not go even farther to tear down those laws. It would weaken the definition of marriage. Marriage is the most sacred institution in this country, and every society considers it the joining of a man and a woman. It makes biological sense only a man and woman can pro-create. The gay lifestyle is not something to be encouraged, as a lot of research it leads to a much lower life expectancy, psychological disorders, and other problems. Studies show that homosexuals, for variety of reasons, have life expectancies of approximately twenty years less than the general population. Just like a lifestyle of smoking, drinking, etc unhealthy lifestyles should be discouraged (Deem …show more content…
One study reports that the average homosexual has between twenty and hundred and six partners per year. The average heterosexual has eight partners in a lifetime. Homosexuals account for 3-4% of all gonorrhea cases, 60% of all syphilis cases, and 17% of all hospital admissions (other than for STDs) in the United States. They make up only 1-2% of the population. Homosexuals live unhealthy lifestyles, and have historically accounted for the bulk of syphilis, gonorrhea, Hepatitis B, the “gay bowel syndrome”, tuberculosis and cytomegalovirus. Homosexuals questioned in one study reports that 43% admit to 500 or more partners in a lifetime, 28% admit to 1000 or more in a lifetime, and of these people, 79% say that half of those partners are total strangers, and 70% of those sexual contacts are one night stands. 78% of homosexuals are affected by STDs. Dr Daniel Capron, a practicing psychiatrist, says, “Homosexuality by definition is not healthy and wholesome. The homosexual person, at best, will be unhappier and more unfulfilled than the sexually normal person. It takes approximately $300,000 to take care of each AIDS victim, so thanks to the promiscuous lifestyle of homosexuals, medical insurance rates have been skyrocketing for all of us. Homosexuals were responsible for spreading AIDS in the United States, and then rose up violent groups

Three reasons why other person wants to legal the same sex marriage: First is, they have said all have a sin nature, with weaknesses to sin in particular ways and some people express their sin nature is one way, other people express theirs in other ways. Homosexuality is just one way in a fair and balanced way. Secondly, Marriage is a basic human right and an individual personal choice and the State should not interfere with same-gender couples who choose to marry. Thirdly, ending discrimination enhances the human spirit and makes all our lives better. So Should Gay Marriage be Legalized? Gay marriage has been a critical topic in many countries since 1924. Around the year 2000, countries such as America and the UK started approving gay marriages, although not everyone agreed with this decision. Still in 2013, homosexuals are fighting for their right to get married to someone of their same sex. People against gay marriage feel that if it was to be legalized, the importance of marriage would fade away and some people would refer to…

My personal views on this issue changed a few years ago when watching the TV broadcast and something came up about the right for gays to marry. Previously I was personally indifferent but felt that marriage was as much a religious institution as a civil institution. After all, most marriages are performed by clergy and the majority are in religious settings. I felt that civil union met the needs of gays so why offend the religions? Then I saw an older woman interviewed and she had explained that she and her partner had been waiting 30 or 40 year for this day. They have lived together as a family and wanted to be married. That's about as successful as a married couple can be, still wanting to be married after all that time! And I thought, all Americans are entitled to their own pursuit of happiness. Gays who buy into a system of family values should have the same family rights as others. I also used to get grossed out when I hear same sex marriage, but then I look at Ellen DeGeneres, for example, she is the sweetest the person that could be. Opinions about same sex marriage crossed out so many times and places as well as thru out the years. Many say that time is changing and over the years people slowly will accept the gay marriage.…

Why should we let two people that love each other get married? It’s just not right! The only reasons why two people should get married are for money, sex and kids. And since gays can't have kids, there's no point to lesbian sex, and anal sex is just plain nasty. Therefore, gays have no reason to get married.…

Whether or not gay marriage should be legalized in the United States is an on going debate. I personally do not understand why it isn't legalized already; By not allowing homosexuals the right to marriage you are taking away their freedom of speech. It is not right to treat them with such inequality. Marriage should not be just between a man and a woman, if same-sax couples are in love and want to spend eternity together, they deserve the right to do so through marriage. Marriage comes along with many benefits that they are unable to recieve just because they are denied the right to marry.…

Gay marriage should be legal because as woman and man, all individuals have the same right in society; because same-sex couples can constitute a good based family; because it is just a way to make official a common union nowadays, even with the religious issue; because it is not related to polygamy; and because love matters and it does not differ in nature according to the sex of its object or the person who experiences it.…

Many same-sex couples want the right to get married because they are in love. Many, in fact, have spent the last 10, 20 or 50 years with that person, and they want to honor their relationship in the greatest way our society has to offer. By making a commitment to stand together in good times and bad, through all the joys and challenges family life brings, and to show that off to the public, just like other married couples. Same sex marriage should be legalized because they have a right as individuals of the United States to love whoever they want, and whoever makes them happy, and as citizens of the U.S., they should not be discriminated against based on sexuality.…

Would you deny a person to marry even if they are in love? I wouldn’t and that’s why I fully support gay marriage. I have been exposed to the gay culture since I was a young child and taking vacations to providence town. Even the political landscape is changing due to the increased support of gay marriage. Sadly the main deterrent to gay marriage laws being passed is the Catholic Church and other religious organizations. Religion plays a major role in not wanting same sex couples to marry because in the bible it may or may not say it is or isn’t a sin depending on how you interpret it or. This has caused a very large junction of church and state which doesn’t help the current situation of gay marriage in our country.…

Legalizing gay marriage should not harm any body since you have the right to choose who your partner is. Most of the people who are against gay marriage say that it is bad because it goes against their religion or its values and this should not be like that because everybody is different and everybody has the right to choose your religion and your values. Now gay marriage is being more accepted and its legal in 12 us states, however people are against it because they say that marriage is between a woman and a man and not a man and man or a woman and a woman they also say gay couples cannot raise a child and this is completely false because they have done studies where children are raised with gay parents and they are successful people and most of them are totally straight people because gay parents are more open minded and…

I completely support marriage equality, and I think gay marriage should be legalized because it is uncivilized and unmerited. Our civil rights and the Constitution give us many liberties. One of our civil liberties is the pursuit of happiness, which homosexual people are not allowed to chase. They cannot be married to the person they love and it violates their freedoms. Actually, a lot of state of America and some countries support same-sex marriage. Yesterday, gay marriage is allowed in California. This is not only the good news for people live in California but also gives gay people around the world hope and believe that their love would be supported and respected.…

    Same-Sex Marriage

Let’s talk about some reasons that I agreed with same-sex marriage. First of all, I truly believe in God. In my opinion, everyone is equal and all of us will have a special one to be with for the rest of our lives which is our soul mates. The only different thing between a normal marriage and same-sex marriage is the gender. Basically, if a man and woman marry then we will see it as a normal and healthy marriage. But somehow we will see marriage between a gay couple and a lesbian couple as a shame or a sin. This is how normally everyone’s perception is on same-sex marriage. I think that same-sex marriage should be legalised and accepted by everyone because God will accept the way they are. Homosexual couples are just like us, ordinary people so God will love them the same way God loves us. Besides that, they did not do any crimes and that’s why same-sex marriage is not a sin. They deserved to be the way they are and we should not judge them.…
