c. What do you think may be unique about being a nurse leader?

In the past, I have demonstrated leadership as both the assistant manager of a frozen yogurt shop and as a leader in the University Honors Program as a member of the Honors Student Council. Perspective on health care
a. What do you see as the three most significant issues facing health care today?
b. How should nurses become involved in and respond to these issues?

Three of the most significant issues facing health care today include access to care, avoidable harm to patients, and the issue of antibiotic resistance. Nurses can be involved and play a large role in responding to these issues. Access to health care is an issue that has long been plaguing our health care system, and while the Affordable Care Act has aided this problem, there is more that can be done to benefit those who still lack access to care. As a nurse, diversity is even more important, because you will be caring for a diverse population in your patients, thus, you must be sensitive to their needs and background in order to be successful. I contribute diversity to the class because of the way I was raised. I am open minded and accepting of everyone because, as I child I lived on three different continents. This allowed me to interact with those who had different beliefs and came from cultures aside from my own. This upbringing led me to develop a strong desire to learn more about other people, cultures, and their traditions or beliefs. For instance, when I had a class with an exchange student from Cambodia, I was intrigued by his life, and was thrilled to learn more about about his life and experience in Cambodia, as well as his new experiences in America. My upbringing has taught me that even though someone may have different beliefs than myself, I should still respect them and their
