The Nutcracker and the Mouse King was originally written in 1816 by E.T.A Hoffmann. It was about a young girl who had gotten a Nutcracker as a gift from her godfather on Christmas Eve. One point of similarities and differences would be the characters and the relationships that the characters have in both stories, Night and Life is Beautiful. For example, there is a father-son relationship in each of the stories. In Night, the father, Shlomo, and the son, Elie, have a very special bond of love and appreciation toward one another, just like Joshua and Guido do to each other in Life is Beautiful. However, the difference between the two would be that at around the end of the book of Night, Elie's feelings toward his father would change at one period in the story. The reader notices the change when he says “free at last!” (Wiesel 112), yet this change did not happen to Joshua and Guido in Life is Beautiful. By Elie’s change of feeling toward his beloved father, this could change how the reader feels about him whether it is a positive…

One of the more obvious ones is in the movie, the characters will occasionally leave out lines or change the words, showing they didn’t completely follow the script. Another is that the play begins with Jacob Marley speaking to Scrooge, but the movie begins with Scrooge in his office at work. The movie shows a part where Scrooge is greedy and steals the coins for Marley’s deceased eyes, but that scene is never mentioned in the play. Scrooge and Fan are told to be younger in the theatrical performance, but are played by older characters in the movie. In the play, Scrooge’s nephew comes to visit Scrooge’s work and his name is never addresses, but he is called Fred at that time in the movie. The movie shows that Bob and Mrs. Cratchit have only 2 kids, but the play states they have more than that. Although only a few differences were listed, with more research you could find plenty…
