“Outsiders” Compare and Contrast Essay The “Outsiders” film and novel are both very outstanding and interesting.After watching the movie I noticed a few similarities, like how they both have all the same characters, and the church gets burnt down. Even though there are many similarities there are still a lot of differences, including how In the book Ponyboy was jumped, but this did not happen in the movie Here are a few of the similarities they share. The story is about a group of 7 greasers set in the 1960’s. Basically the greasers are in constant rival with the socs, the upper class kids from the west side.     Ponyboy, a greaser, was walking home from the movies. A car filled with socs followed him, they jumped him. He remembered that Johnny, his best bud, got jumped by the same socs.
