The Outsiders is both a great book and a great movie. Although they are both very great, they are not completely the same, or completely different. A book that turns into a movie usually has way more information because the person writing the book isn’t just going to make it a movie line for line. The movie “The Outsiders” doesn’t work like that though. The book and the movie are about as close to line for line as you can possibly get. They have to add some scenes in movie to explain the thinking of the characters, but they also have to subtract scenes from the book to shorten the movie. The book, The Outsiders, and the movie, “The Outsiders,” are alike in many ways.…

I chose the quote,"You cannot open a book without learning something" by the Irish proverb because I can relate it to my favorite book,"The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton which taught me lots of stuff that I did not know about. The book is about a 14 year old named Ponyboy and his two brothers Darry who is 16 and Sodapop who is 20 years old. Darry is in charge of them due to both of his parents dying in a car accident. They are all greasers in a gang and often watch over Johnny ,who is another greaser, because his alcoholic parents abuse him. They also have a gang rivalry with the Socs who are rich and pick on the poor.…

How can complete opposites of people also have many similarities? How can a law breaking guy have anything similar to a law-abiding person? In most stories this is highly unlikely. However, in S.E Hinton’s novel The Outsiders, two characters have these differences. Dally Winston and Johnny Cade are similar because they both have abusive parents and they both care about one another. On the other hand they have opposite personalities and have different opinions on the law. Therefore, Dally Winston and Johnny Cade are very similar yet completely different.…

    S. E. Hinton wrote ‘The Outsiders’ when he was sixteen years old. She did not just write the book, but she really felt it and lived it. While the author was writing this book she looked back and realized how important it was to have another life. One day, her friend was walking home and a couple of “nice” kids jumped out of a car and just started to beat her friend up because they did not like that he was a greaser. Hinton went home and started writing the story of the boy who was beaten up by rich kids while he was walking home. This is the beginning of ‘ The Outsiders.’…
