MOTIVATION LETTER

Application Submitted for admission into “Masters in Communication Engineering“.

My undergraduate education came to an end in 2010 and currently, my one year compulsory National Youth Service is coming to an end, I am once again at one of the crossroads of life where I have to take a major decision, which will definitely shape my future.

Graduate study is a significant milestone in the perpetual journey to “Education”. With due reverence to the Department and the University,I pen down a “MOTIVATION”. This statement is an attempt to project my credentials as an aspiring researcher, my achievements as an Engineer and my ambitions.

A graduate course would pave way to Earning hands-on experience and acquire Specialization. It would help hone my skills, earn Proficiency and seek professional exposure. Though comprehensive in curriculum, the Undergraduate course offers limited scope for Specialization.

I was exposed to computer at a very early age in school. I learnt basics at about the age of twelve and became fascinated about computers and the internet and how they are interconnected. My schooling and further study have really shaped my thought process and attitude towards education. From my childhood I had a strong proclivity towards science and technology and with this shot in the arm, i opted for a twelve months internship after my second year at the university with a communication company in my home country where i was taught by seasoned engineers on the basics of computer networks, the internet, computer hardware/software, etc.

My undergraduate study was the most pivotal period for shaping my future in a right direction. With the cheer I obtained at age twelve, i have taken Electrical/ Electronic Engineering with Telecommunication as my major at the prestigious Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu, Nigeria. The reasons for opting for Telecommunication as my major is primary but not limited to the fact that i

Having grown up in a household with a „hands-on‟ father, I became interested in the technological aspects of life from a young age. My passion for technology was the deciding factor in choosing a technical high school over an academic high school. I completed grade 12 in Rhodesfield High School with Mechanical Engineering as technical subject. My secondary education was complemented in 2006 with a National Diploma in Mechatronic Engineering from Tshwane University of Technology. In 2011, I realised that I needed to expand my knowledge in the technical environment to stay competitive, and thus enrolled for a part time Bachelor of Technology degree in…

"In this world, you either have an excuse or a story. I prefer to have a story" is the personal goal I have set for myself. This reinforces my belief in taking responsibility for the decisions of my life. Being the son of a scientist at DRDO, India, I have been fascinated about research and development since my early school days. I understand the importance of an accurate and precise instrument, no matter how small or big it is and also the worthlessness of the same in context of even a single human life. I achieved All India 25th rank in CIPEL Science and Mathematics Olympiad during high school life. I was awarded scholarship from my school for academic excellence and all round performance in co-curricular activities like quizzing, debating, singing et cetera from my 6th grade right up to 10th standard. I did a project on Analysis of various Indian Missiles in 8th Standard which gave me an insight into various propellant systems and thus got me interested into exploring the vast arenas of science and technology. In my senior secondary school at DAV Chandrasekharpur, I participated in a State Level Chemistry Exhibition and won the second prize. We had demonstrated manufacturing procedure of bio-diesel from used vegetable oil in a cost effective way. After passing out with 80% marks I chose Institute of Technical Education and Research, Bhubaneswar to pursue my undergraduate studies. Though I was adept in C++ programming in senior secondary level, I chose Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering as my branch of studies to gain technical prowess in one of the most budding fields of research and development. I will, any day, rate practical skills far more important than theoretical know-how. Hence, as a fresher I was an active member of the college Robotics club and the Society of Automotive Engineers. As a sophomore, I represented my university at TECHFEST 2010 (IIT Bombay) and was awarded certificate of ‘Engineering Excellence’ in…

During my early ages in school, I was given training in the basics of the operation and the applications of the computer. Initially, I was fascinated about the computer games. Later, when I was introduced to programming languages like ‘C’ and ‘HTML’ at my High School; I was dumbfounded to know that games are nothing but programs. I was then much involved in knowing, writing and executing the programs. As I grew up, there is tremendous change in the field of computers. The applications became much simpler and are with great visual affects, the user-interface got easier and computers are widely used by everyone. On witnessing this progress, I became fascinated about computers and its programming. This keen interest made me to choose Computer Science as a subject of my Bachelor’s Degree.…
