Moral Character
Good character is not formed in a week or a month. It is created little by little, day by day. Protracted and patient effort is needed to develop good character.

Wondering about what it takes to build up a strong character? Curious about what others have to say about character?

There's an African proverb that goes, “Wherever man goes to dwell his character goes with him.” That goes for women too.

Your character will speak so loudly about you, that it overpowers what you may try to convince others in words.

So wherever you go, and whoever you are with, ultimately given time, your character will shine through as it's the foundation of who you are. Hopefully you can see that you're a beautiful woman with character!

Character Quotes
A person will worship something, have no doubt about that. We may think our tribute is paid in secret in the dark recesses of our hearts, but it will out. That which dominates our imaginations and our thoughts will determine our lives, and our character. Therefore, it behooves us to be careful what we worship, for what we are worshipping we are becoming.
-- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain but it takes character and self control to be understanding and forgiving.
-- Dale Carnegie

Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition

My character has always been an important concept within my life. This is because character is comprised of honesty, selflessness, and compassion. No matter what the situation is, it has always been imperative to me to be honest with not just those around me, but with myself. For example, I once noticed that an instructor had given me a higher grade than I deserved on a quiz, I never hesitated to report the mistake and made sure that my work was graded…

When most people think of character they often associate it with the idea of having to do the right thing. I on the other hand believe character is more than just doing what is morally righteous. Our experiences, obstacles and most importantly, passion define our true character. Passion establishes the difference between obligation or choice and giving up or persevering. Our actions result from the passion we choose to dedicate towards different aspects of our lives including school, work, extracurricular activities and community service. Everyone values these aspects differently and that is what allows for each of us to have our own unique character. I believe people have a more powerful influence when they have a true sense of passion for what they are doing.…

Character plays a role in who I am and who I seek to be. My parents taught me to be obedient and listen to others. At first, I thought being obedient means to follow rules so you would not get in trouble. In school, I would be the student who always followed the rules: no talking when the teachers talking, clean up after yourself, and finish your work at the proper time. Every year from kindergarten to middle school, I would get recognition…

Having character is being trustworthy, honest, empathetic and respectful. This means doing the right thing even when nobody's watching. I always search for the best in everyone because no one is perfect and we all have made poor decisions in our lifetime. I take responsibilities in my actions and others I am responsible for. It is difficult for me to admit that I am wrong but I still do because it is the right thing to do. I have had a friend who was suffering from depression and wanted to harm themselves. I was scared for them because depression is a disease and it is not their fault that they are like that. I had them speak to an adult and they are currently recovering. I was very scared that she had cut marks on her wrist because it could have gotten worst. I cried because I did not want to lose a friend. On a field trip, I found a five dollar bill on the pavement. I asked the first adult I saw who was slightly ahead of me if it was hers. She said that it must have dropped out of her purse when she was walking. The teacher was really surprised because she said I could have easily kept it for myself. I would feel bad if I took someone else’s money even if it was just lying…

Character in the Webster’s dictionary is defined as the way someone thinks, feels, and behaves: someone’s personality. Character is the main component in each and every and every living being here on earth. Your character is what can make you or break you. It can carry you to success or take you straight to failure. Because character is so important, JROTC instructors try their best to instill certain morals and values that will give us a character that will take us to success. A person of character is, someone to admire, who sets a good example, who knows the difference between right and wrong. To me no one is good or bad. This is a fact that should be kept in mind when we try to judge a person's overall character. We are all different and complex. I think I show most of the elements a person of good character should show. Not only have I been looked up to and admired, but I try to keep as active as possible (a quality younger students may look up to). Joining different sports, excelling in academics, and joining other extracurricular activities, gives me this opportunity and also demonstrates my reliability. Like a person with a good character I like to help anyone that is in need of a little guidance. I've always been known to make people laugh or feel better when they are down, which seems to me like a person with a great character, and want to better life's sometimes harsh obstacles.…

People are not born with all of their characteristics. A person gains their character as he/she is growing up and experiencing new situations. When a child in kindergarten takes a crayon from a fellow peer, the teacher scolds him/her and tells the child that is not right. The teacher’s tone of voice and the negative experience of getting in trouble is an indicator to the child that what he/she did was wrong and shouldn’t be done again. Education plays an important role in building a child’s character. When children receive education, they are taught morals that will benefit them in the future, and they receive a sense of discernment.…
