National Junior Honor Society Analysis
I am very honored to have this chance in National Junior Honor Society. I have always wanted to be a member since I heard about it, which was 5th grade. Last year, in 6th grade, I saw myself being up there this year. I feel I have all of the qualities to have this privilege. “Character is a set of behavior traits that define what sort of person you are. Your moral or ethical qualities if you like – qualities of honesty, courage, integrity, trustworthiness, respectfulness, responsibility, caring and compassion. People judge your personal character by their perception of how you respond to challenges. Someone who perseveres in the face of adversity and works persistently to complete a task or sees something through is generally thought to be someone of good character.” Once wrote Karon Graham. …show more content…
I have always respected the adults in my life, as well as my peers. I also try to model their responsibility and trustworthiness. I come to school and class everyday. I am honest to people, and my friends trust me. I feel like I am a fair person. I treat everyone equal. I like to help people, and considerate of people. Scholarship to me means giving your best in the classroom, and persevering through no matter what. I enjoy all of my subjects; I think I am good in all of them. I turn in my assignments on time, and the best I can do. I get involved with school projects, or whatever I can do to help the school. I pay attention, and am involved in class discussions. I also try to help others if they do not understand. Leadership is very important to people today. Society is heavily influenced by leadership. The economy is driven by business leaders. Countries are shaped by political leaders. People’s religion is determined by religious leaders. I try to lead by example everywhere I go. In the classroom, court, and after

Leadership has been important throughout human history. But why is leadership makes it so important? There are many answers to that question. First of all, mankind has always needed leaders. Without leaders, this world would not be able to function properly. Second, leaders have an influence on people, may it be good or bad. The choices that a leader makes can leave an impact on people to do something that the said leader believes in. Third, leaders have a big impact on the outcome of the future of society. The leader could decide to choose a way to settle a matter, whether it is good or bad, and those choices could lead to either the destruction or growth of a nation.…

To me, leadership is leading by example. My years in high school have shown me that the person who builds people up, and shows kindness is more of a leader than someone who commands and controls people. I strive to be this kind, caring person who others can look up to. As I grow older, I hope that by doing the right things, I can inspire others to do the same.…

When most people think of character they often associate it with the idea of having to do the right thing. I on the other hand believe character is more than just doing what is morally righteous. Our experiences, obstacles and most importantly, passion define our true character. Passion establishes the difference between obligation or choice and giving up or persevering. Our actions result from the passion we choose to dedicate towards different aspects of our lives including school, work, extracurricular activities and community service. Everyone values these aspects differently and that is what allows for each of us to have our own unique character. I believe people have a more powerful influence when they have a true sense of passion for what they are doing.…

I value scholarship very much. I take honors classes to challenge myself and I always keep up my grades. I personally do not have a huge vocabulary so I give myself challenges everyday to improve and expand my vocabulary bank. And no matter how hard a subject gets, I never and will never give up. For…

Character is the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. Martin Luther King Jr. once said “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character”. What would happen in the world if people were judged by what is on the inside and not what you see? People would have to take the time to get to know people before they could conclude anything about them, and maybe if compassion was the driving force in the world, people would be more accepting and loving. Instead of labeling people, the world would be a much better place if we approached others with compassion and a sense of justice about their character and not how they physically look.…

Having character is being trustworthy, honest, empathetic and respectful. This means doing the right thing even when nobody's watching. I always search for the best in everyone because no one is perfect and we all have made poor decisions in our lifetime. I take responsibilities in my actions and others I am responsible for. It is difficult for me to admit that I am wrong but I still do because it is the right thing to do. I have had a friend who was suffering from depression and wanted to harm themselves. I was scared for them because depression is a disease and it is not their fault that they are like that. I had them speak to an adult and they are currently recovering. I was very scared that she had cut marks on her wrist because it could have gotten worst. I cried because I did not want to lose a friend. On a field trip, I found a five dollar bill on the pavement. I asked the first adult I saw who was slightly ahead of me if it was hers. She said that it must have dropped out of her purse when she was walking. The teacher was really surprised because she said I could have easily kept it for myself. I would feel bad if I took someone else’s money even if it was just lying…
