Functional Areas of Business
In the pursuit of a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Phoenix have given understanding in the functional areas of business. Every organization has leaders that must study different areas within that organization. In order for them to work in these different areas in the organization, he or she must focus on the functional skills and responsibilities that they will carry out for the organization to become successful. Each employee has a responsibility within the organization, which will allow them to build and communicate the organizations goals.
Functional Areas in Business Organizations
Functional areas of business will assist leaders with the information that is needed to have effective leadership skills. This paper will discuss the different functional areas in business, such as management and operations management, human resource management, law, accounting, finance, economics, leadership, research and statistics, strategic planning, and marketing. This is why I am currently pursuing my Masters of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Phoenix.

If no one plans ahead for the organization, the company will not grow. Staffing involves filling positions within the organization by hiring employees. The manager’s job is to recruit the people that have the qualifying skills to perform the job. Even if the new hires have to be trained, the managers will hire the most qualified person to train them. Leading involves the manager’s leading his or her subordinates in the direction of the organizations goals. Organizing involves the manager to define what is needed to perform the job. Controlling involves monitoring or overseeing every aspect of the organizational
