In March 2011, I took a few days of classes and received my hunting education certification. Looking back, the actual class time is just a blur of what not to do, but I was reminded of them when I took drivers education last December, with the what not to do teachings. I also remember being very nervous about the test, but having a great feeling when I learned I passed. That October, I remember being immensely excited to go on my first hunt. The night before my dad and I left, I had a parent teacher conference and I remember getting some strange looks in the parking lot because we had a trailer loaded with tents, four wheelers, chairs, and a bunch of other stuff…

Six-word Memoir is a scheme originally established by a U.S founded storytelling publication. The publication aimed at presenting a podium for storytelling in all its kinds. For instance, ‘I can’t keep my own secrets’ is a six word memoir that depicts an individual’s tendency to reveal chief secrets or significant past moments in their lives. On the other hand, when I say ‘Alcohol has utterly ruined my life’, then I am simply trying to inform the reader of my continued abuse of alcohol and my bitter…

I never had the need to take a picture. I never liked them, just made myself criticize my looks. I always said “I’ll have the memories right here.” and I would point to my head. I constantly thought that if I can’t remember the memory, then it wasn’t worth remembering. Everytime I look at an old picture of myself, it doesn’t make me as happy as I suppose to feel. “I am getting older or gosh my hair was really bad back then” I would think. Nothing grabbed at me to want to remember that day.…

The price of an image should be commensurate with how and where the image was taken. Although there are some phenomena in memory that are poorly understood, it is generally accepted that an item studied as a picture will be better remembered than an item studied as a word. Most of us are familiar with the expression, “a picture is worth a thousand words” and agree that memory for pictures is remarkable. Indeed in most situations, it would be wise to assume that pictures will be better remembered than words. One picture can contain enough information to convey many sentences. Children learn to follow stories in…
