1.0 SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS
Currently Marvel is a subsidiary company of Walt Disney. The company is known for licensing and commercializing its own created characters to big brothers of entertainment world along with other subsidiaries. It has many segments or divisions due to its variety products and services like publication of novels and comics, television shows, production and distribution of movies. Today it has right over nearly 8000 comic factious characters around the globe. Through the agreements and joint ventures, the characters get commercialized, to be used in theme parks, movies, television, interactive games, apparel and video games. But situational analysis has something else to say other than this high rise. Undoubtedly third of population in the world must be familiar with one of the characters whose rights are with marvel, but do Marvel enjoys third of profit by its licensing and distribution strategy to rule the market? When big entertainment industry and production houses are getting billions how much Marvel gets in its pocket? Every character comes to an end, how Marvel is going to cope with its aging characters and in an age where characters rise to rocket high success no doubt but their sustainability is questionable. To answer all these questions, this marketing assignment will discuss the problematic situation faced by the Marvel Entertainment LLC, what decision can be taken to combat these problems and what made to reach to those decisions. The situational analysis will be done by SWOT matrix tool, which will guide us to reach to decision statement. The last section of the essay will focus upon the recommendations for Marvel enterprise to sustain its high-rise and success in long run.
2.0 PROBLEM STATEMENT
Any industry irrespective of products and service, run by a inner core theme and it is innovation. Without having something new both in products and services, there is very little chance for success and survival of any business firm
