Margot's Contradiction
“All Summer in a Day” by Ray Bradbury is a story about a girl named Margot that lives in the planet Venus where it rains every seven years. She has lived on Earth she is a shy girl and she has seen the sun before. Margot wanted to see the sun again also her classmates, she also wants to tell her classmates about the sun but they are jealous of her. So, the classmates locked her in the closet. Finally, the kids saw the sun for only two hours, realized they were bullies, and opened the closet to get Margot out.
One Aha moment that stood out in the text was “‘Will it be seven more years?’ ‘Yes. seven,’ ‘Margot!’” (Bradbury pg. 131) This was the moment the classmates realized that Margot is still in the closet. Another Contradiction that stood out in the text was “ The one of them gave a little cry. ‘Margot.’”(Bradbury pg. 131) This part of the text was acting in a contradictory way because one of the classmates cried for Margot. This shows that these are contradiction because the classmates did something opposite what they have been doing all along.
In summation, the story “All Summer in a Day” is a science fiction and fantasy short story. The people that would be interested in this story is if they like science fiction and fantasy . It grabbed the reader’s attention by how the story ended because the classmates opened the closet door for Margot to come out because they have locked her in there. Someone should read it because it involves bullying and it happens everywhere on Earth. Also it's talks about classmates living in planet Venus it is kind of cool and a classmate that lived on planet
