Tuesday Of The Other June Norma Mazer Analysis
“Tuesday of the other June” by Norma Fox Mazer, is a realistic fiction short story about a girl named June that has a problem at school with a bully. In the beginning, June tries to make a new friend at school and asks what her name is and she says it's June and pushes June into the pool. Soon, the other June started to call June names like buffalo brain and turkey nose. June never told anyone about the bullying at school. In the end, June gets confident to get the other June to get off her back and says, “No more!” and stood up to her. This story shows that June has confidence and courage in her and is determined. One way June shows courage is by springing out of her seat. For example, in paragraph 95 the character June jumps …show more content…
For example, in paragraph number 29 the character asks the other June to let her go and promises her that her mom picked the bathing suit at the store. This means that June is getting some, but little confidence over the other June. This shows that the other June thinks very little of how she is hurting June. This shows an example of one way she is slowly building up confidence and determination to face the other June. The last way she builds courage is when she kept saying “no more” to the other June.
For example, in paragraph 95, the character keeps saying “no” and “no more” because it felt so good to say it right in front of her face.She finally stands up and brings the other June down. This means that she gained full courage over her. This proves courage and determination because she finds out that she can stand up to the other June and she doesn't have to live in misery and sadness because of her. June took down the other June with her courage. June sprung out of her seat like she had wings to get the other June to stop. June was confident and yelled at the other June that her bathing suit was not found in the trash. June got really determined and stood up to the other June and told her no more bullying. June stuck tough and didn't tell on the other June. She was determined at the end

    Courage is valued among the characters, and they display it in varying amounts. Among all the sisters Minerva shows the most courage. First she starts off by wanting to be a lawyer and she is not afraid of speaking her mind. She goes to a boarding school where she meets a girl who is against Trujillo and learns how bad Trujillo really is. This is when she begins to start acting rebellious.
