Making a Difference

I want to be able to make a difference in someone else life by using my gift of helping people in the time of need and showing respect to every individual I meet. There are many ways you can help people. I believe I was born to care for people. Knowing that I helped someone else makes me feel great about myself. I chose being a cna because I knew it was the first step I could take in making a difference in someone else life. My gift of helping people and showing respect to every individual in the work that I do as a cna, been exercised every day. I work in a nursing home. I have a lot of respect for the elderly. Cna’s genuinely care for others. Being a cna for 14 years has changed me in many ways. Making a difference in my children lives, teaching them to follow their dreams, and telling them to accomplish what ever makes them happy in life is important to me. I have to teach my children that finishing high school and pursuing a career is important. Teaching my children to respect everyone and treating people, as you want to be treated, will take them a long way in life. Volunteering at church, nursing homes, and schools are other ways I feel like a make a difference. I volunteer at my church when we have dinners or activity functions with the members. Going to nursing homes to read or do activities with the resident has been a big volunteer project for me. Helping others has always been my passion. Giving the gift of caring, showing love, giving help to other in the time of need, and showing respect to others shows my character in many ways. I will always try to make a difference in someone life with the gift that I have of helping when I can.

Each year in November I volunteer at The Basket Brigade. We assemble boxes full of food for the less fortunate to have for Thanksgiving/the holiday season. After assembling the boxes we each take 4-5 and deliver them to anyone who has requested them. This opportunity is very eye opening, it shows you how much a little kindness goes and how thankful people are that you care. I have also volunteered at Feed My Starving Children for the last few years. This organization allows you to help pack food to send to children across the…

I tutored the children who was a part of the after school program. My responsibility to help the children made me have this uplifting feeling because I perfectly understood that I have some knowledge that I can share with other them. At the same time, I know that many children do not have an opportunity to get a good education but they are gifted so helping out at C.H.A.M.P.S. gave them a better opportunity.…
