Why Is Maria Gatta Important
ose your essay below: Maria Gatta spent her life in public service, working to help connect people across her community. She was a tireless public servant-spending many years teaching in the public school system and serving on the Oceanport Parent-Teacher Organization, Board of Education, Town Council, and as its first female Mayor. Maria was the originator of the Oceanport Networking Committee-citizens helping citizens- and held two successful “Women’s Day” in 2001 and 2003. She influenced many people with the actions she took to spend her life doing public service. Just how she influenced people I have as well. I had many events or accomplishments, or a realization that has taught me something very important about myself and maybe even …show more content…
For some people they have the best life and get everything they need and want for themselves. For some people on the other hand they don't have it that way and get the short end of the stick. For the people you see and help It comes straight from the heart because they don't have it easy and from me to them I realize that by helping them just a little it could jumpstart them to a fresh life and show them we care. I realize that I have as much as I need and I always ask my parents for money and to go out places but some people don't even have homes or food to provide and eat. By helping out a needing hand it makes me realize that I don't need everything in the world and it should help other people realize to that by looking at the life you have if you're rich or wealthy to help someone in need is the right thing to do and what I like doing best. I often try to find events where I can go to homeless shelters or volunteering for events where I could raise money to help anyone in need. By Me doing these helpful things It gives me a warm heart and I feel I have helped the best I could and not complain on how I have nothing and get nothing when there is people without homes, food, families, and

Each year in November I volunteer at The Basket Brigade. We assemble boxes full of food for the less fortunate to have for Thanksgiving/the holiday season. After assembling the boxes we each take 4-5 and deliver them to anyone who has requested them. This opportunity is very eye opening, it shows you how much a little kindness goes and how thankful people are that you care. I have also volunteered at Feed My Starving Children for the last few years. This organization allows you to help pack food to send to children across the…

Donating money or time to charity is a good way to help ourselves feel better by improving the quality of life for other people. One of my favorite charities is The Shriners Hospital for children. They are a charitable organization, and their 22 hospitals are completely free to patients. According to their website, their vision is to “Become the best at transforming children’s lives by providing exceptional healthcare through innovative research, in a patient and family centered environment.” They are dedicated to improving the lives of children and families in need through medical and financial backing (Shriners Hospitals for Children).…

There seems to be an inexhaustible number of reasons that one person might go out of his way to assist another. One of the more interesting of these is to give to soothe one's conscience, or to avoid the guilt that comes with not offering help when you can. Ma Joad used this reason to feed the starving children at the first Hooverville they stayed at. She looked at those kids and tried to avoid giving them food so she could feed her family. Even Uncle Tom had a hard time eating his food with those hungry children looking on. Ma eventually soothed her conscience by giving the kids the dregs of the soup kettle, though she knew she should have given the entire helping to her family, as they had less than enough themselves.…

In life there are times when people cannot only focus on themselves. In order to move on, and fulfill life’s destiny you must help those that surround you. One cannot truly understand who they are and why they were brought to earth unless they consider helping those around them. I love to help people; it never gets old for me. At an early age, my family joined Jack and Jill of America, which is an organization that performs community service within the community. Because of my involvement in Jack and Jill, helping people has always been a passion of mine. If I see someone that is in need, wherever I am, I never hesitate to assist that person. My father told me that when I was younger he used to give me money and I would try to give it to people who were less fortunate. Helping others is something that I enjoy doing and it will never grow old with me.…

Did you know that many people around the world are suffering due to lack of resources within their countries? Some wealthier people and nations decide not to help these less fortunate people as they would rather spend money on frivolous things and think that it’s not their obligation. I believe that man has a moral obligation to help those less fortunate than him, though I believe that it is not morally right to only help those who are less fortunate just to make you feel like a better person.…

As a child, my parents and I always went on walks, we sometimes saw things that would slowly break down my walls and make me see the hostile in the world. One day, we saw an old man that was homeless, and my parents were being nice, and gave the man a $5.00 bill. I was grown up to always help the people even though there are people in this world that would fake to be homeless just to get money, but I was taught that it would come back to them if they were to…

Many achievements are made by helping others. Helping others is also a chain reaction, so we should all try to spread the compassion. Last but not least, helping is one nice reaction of people to homeless one. It shows not only the humanity but also the sharing of us. Once in an idyllic evening, I was driving along the way home, I saw a young boy who was giving a bottle of water to a homeless man. Surprisingly, every day I go home, I see that action. The little boy has tried to help that man just by giving him water, but I feel happy because there are kind people who are willing to help others in poor…

n the world, there are so many people that do not have any shelter. I am very sad, when I see them adrift at the corners of the park or on the street. In my opinion, helping to homeless people can lessen their suffering. For example, when my father sees homeless people with grime clothes, he gives some clothes to them this work is admirable. This my father's good behavior remains a legacy for me and I try to help to homeless people like my…

Throughout my life it has been an instinct to help out underserved populations. In Boys Scouts, I would volunteer to organize soup kitchen and food drives. I took this mentality into my collegiate career where I worked to bring meaningful aid to those in need. While I was vice president of my rugby club, I made an effort to have everyone in the club perform some form of community service. We worked with the animal shelters and local food pantries to bring care to those in need, all the while listening and developing ways to effectively help…

    People Helping People

My interpretation of “people helping people” is “people helping people” can be looked at as a selfless act of encouragement to one individual or a whole community. By helping those with a certain need to only get the profit of satisfaction is a fundamental philosophy to keep our society well-endowed and strong as a community. I have personally demonstrated this in my community by participating in my school’s Operation Christmas Child to help children across the world see what a better life is and to help them reach it on earth, and with God. I also volunteered for four summers at our City’s Park’s Program as a junior counselor, watching children and giving them a place to enjoy their summer outside and also educate them as we took field trips to the Corning Museum of Glass. I personally have lived by my own interpretation of the selfless philosophy of “people helping people”…
