Pepsi has go to market strategy, so company tries to cut the costs by bringing the product directly to the market they try to have less wear houses but it didn’t mean that distribution and wear houses were not connected. Warehouse Infrastructure Initiative became the Direct shop Delivery Transformation Initiative.
Pepsi Company has a supplier code to clarify their health and safety while distributing their product; they have translated the supplier code in 25 languages to know that suppliers fully understand supplier code of conduct. PepsiCo educate and work with our suppliers to improve social responsibility performance across our supply chain.
2) What is the biggest problem/challenge in the company in terms of operations
The biggest problem for Pepsi is the health issue, people need surgeries because of these tasty drinks, and health and wellness is not Pepsi’s target. So far, PepsiCo’s numbers over the past five years show that taking a healthier direction can also be profitable. From 2007 to 2011, Pepsi achieved double-digit by lowering the sugar and returned more than 30 billion shareholders.

The company PepsiCo always wants to be sure about opportunities and future risks and to show Satisfying financial performance. Pepsi should be ready to respond to climate change, water scarcity and obesity. Pepsi make research every year making interviews to employees and CEOs asking about future environment and health trends.

In the process of developing the strategies company owners discovered that PepsiCo was not only food manufacturer it was also Agriculture Company depended on land and natural resources. The strategy showed them to make company more profitable in long term. The company had made a team for agriculture for controlling climate and water supply chain, the company eve invented technology i-crop to prevent wasting water.

    Pepsi-Cola began as a drink developed by a pharmacist named Caleb Bradham in his drugstore in 1893. The soft drink was made to be a tonic to aid in digestion and as a refreshing drink that gives an energy boost. This concoction made of pepsin and kola nuts was originally called “Brad’s Drink” named after its inventor, but was later changed to Pepsi-Cola to be more marketable. Originally, this beverage was sold in drug stores and at soda fountains, but was later sold in bottled form to facilitate mass distribution. The Great Depression was a major setback for many American companies and there was no exception for Pepsi. However, the company strived to remain strong and offered its product for five cents in the mid thirties while touting that their product offered twice as much for half the price of Coke’s product. During this time their ad campaigns and marketing tactics worked and their company continued to remain profitable despite a harsh economic climate. Pepsi marketed its products to virtually everyone, young and old, but they often utilized creative marketing tactics to entice new customers to try their products. In the mid 1940’s Pepsi began a marketing campaign to gain more popularity with African American customers whom the company decided where not getting adequate attention with regards to marketing and advertising. PepsiCo today now has interests in many different brands and product lines. Some of their most notable brands familiar to consumers today are Pepsi-Cola, Frito-Lays, SoBe, Tostitos, Sabra, Near East, Pasta Roni, Sun Chips, Cheetos, Quaker, Doritos, Sierra Mist, and Dole to name a few.
