CHAPTER 1
THE PROBLEM AND ITS SETTINGS
INTRODUCTION
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY:
A resort is a place used for relaxation or recreation, attracting visitors for holidays or vacations. These are place, towns or sometimes a commercial establishment operated by a single company. It is a living spa in the old fashioned sense of the beautiful destinations that caters to your needs and desires in a peacefully placed environment. One can’t help wonder about the history and heritage behind a resort on a visit. What is now Jed’s Island Resort, located along McArthur Highway, Calumpit, Bulacan, started out as the private rest house of a native of Apalit, Pampanga. Then consisting mainly of a native cottage and one swimming pool, the property covered only a few hundred square meters, until engineering development started in 1984 to see the construction of the nine others swimming pools, dekuxe air-conditioned and an open native cottages, a must-photograph hanging bridge, a stylized waterfall, and a several private or Jacuzzi island. They offer resort reservation for all occasions such as weddings, birthdays, seminars, anniversaries, baptismal and more.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: This study aims to determine what are the existing system for reservation in Jed’s Island Resort. This will able to know if somebody would be appreciate this things. This will ask the question, “what are the factors that affect this resort reservation?” and “how this factors affect the resort reservation?”. And also, to change a manual reservation to online reservation.
OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY: This study aims to improve the existing reservation system in real time of Jed’s Island Resort. It provides full reservation management. And it provides the company and the staffs well with any help they may need in their resort reservation, from getting off to a quick start ongoing assistance.
