Jesus and Mohammed
The Life of Jesus
The religion of Christianity has a foundation that is based around the teachings of Jesus
Christ of Nazareth whose life story is told in the New Testament in the Bible. Jesus of Nazareth also widely known as Jesus Christ is the son of God according to Christians. The exact date of his birth is not known, however he was born to a virgin named Mary who had a fiancée, a carpenter whose name was Joseph. Before her pregnancy an angel named Gabriel appeared before Mary in a dream and prophesized she would give birth to a male child, upon her pregnancy the angel reappeared to Joseph and instructed him to Mary the pregnant virgin.
“About 2000 years ago God sent an angel to Israel, to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to
Joseph, a carpenter. The angel told Mary that by God 's power, she would conceive and bear a son.” (Palmer, 2008, para. 1) . Word of the Messiah’s birth soon traveled and got the attention of

In an effort to find Jesus and kill him, Herod tricked the Wise Men and told them he too wanted to worship Jesus and to inform him when they found the Messiah. The men eventually found Jesus and brought gifts of
Frankincense, Myrrh and Gold, the men were warned by an angel of Herod’s trickery and they did not return to him as promised. Another angel appeared to Joseph in a dream to escape with his family to Egypt, soon after the family escaped King Herod grew furious, because the Wise

There are many religions in our society today but there are two that really stand out and almost seem to want to destroy each other. This is pretty insane to me because they both have very similar history and their major leaders have very similar almost messages. Jesus is the main prophet of Christianity and Mohammed is the main prophet of Islam. Jesus and Mohammad have many followers, but the Muslims considered Mohammad as one of the greatest prophets ever, while others would consider Mohammed totally inferior to Jesus. Jesus was born the son of Mary of the virgin birth. It is said that Mary was a virgin at the time of Jesus’s birth and that Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit.…

The next day, as Jesus and the disciples were approaching Jerusalem, they came to Bethpage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives. Jesus told two of the disciples to go to the village up ahead. He told them that they would find a colt tied up there. They were supposed to bring that colt to Jesus. If the owner were to ask them why they were taking the colt, they were to tell him that this colt was for the Lord, and it would be returned shortly. While they were untying the coal,…

Although her presence in Scripture is not necessarily frequent, the citations that do include her are of great significance. Scripture does not give an account of Mary 's birth; however it is known that she was a teenager at the time of Jesus’ birth. This indicates her date of birth to be around 14-16 B.C. Mary was born into a devout Jewish family in Galilee at the time that it was a part of the ancient Roman Empire (Hopler 1). She was born to Saint Joachim and Saint Anne. Catholic tradition teaches that angels separately visited to inform them that Anne was expecting Mary (Hopler 1). Contrary to popular belief, the Immaculate Conception does not refer to the birth of baby Jesus; it refers to Mary’s birth. God had willed that Mary would be chosen to be the mother of Jesus before she was even born. When she was conceived, she was miraculously free of the taint of original sin that has affected every other person in history except Jesus Christ (Hopler 1). Thus, Mary was the only living human being to be born without “original sin.”…

When Mary faced her unexpected pregnancy she was young and meagre. Nor was she wedded to Joseph. This pregnancy was unforeseen and astonishing. Many qualms and uncertainties came along with it. God was the one who brought this baby upon Mary. Since Mary and Joseph have not had intimate associations yet, Joseph comprehended that the baby was not his baby. Joseph devalued and oppressed Mary, eventually dismissing her quietly as a righteous man until an angel of the Lord appeared in his dream telling him the child is conceived in her from the Holy…
