There are many religions in our society today but there are two that really stand out and almost seem to want to destroy each other. This is pretty insane to me because they both have very similar history and their major leaders have very similar almost messages. Jesus is the main prophet of Christianity and Mohammed is the main prophet of Islam. Jesus and Mohammad have many followers, but the Muslims considered Mohammad as one of the greatest prophets ever, while others would consider Mohammed totally inferior to Jesus. Jesus was born the son of Mary of the virgin birth. It is said that Mary was a virgin at the time of Jesus’s birth and that Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ’s birth is celebrated around the world on the 25th of December also know as Christmas but Jesus was not actually born on the 25th of December. Christians adopted this date by A.D. 336, and it is said that Jesus Christ was born “when shepherds watched their flocks by night.” This means that he was most likely born in the spring. The Bible explains to us that Herod the Great ruled Palestine when Jesus was born, and Herod died in 4 B.C. This is a good indication that Jesus may have been born a little before Herod died. Mohammed originally called Halabi was said to be born around 570, A.D. at what is known as Mecca.
Muhammad was said to have received revelations or secrets from God, who Muhammad refers to as Allah in Islam, and Muhammad and Allah were recorded in the Qur’an. The Qur’an is basically the Bible of the Islamic religion. Abraham had an illegitimate son by an Egyptian slave named Hagar. The son was named Ishmael. Abraham took Ishmael to Mecca to protect him from the jealousy of his wife. There they built the holiest sanctuary in Islam the Ka’bah; this is believed to be the Adam’s original place of worship (Fisher, 2005). Adam is said to be the first man created by God. Muhammad

Before the prophet Muhammad was born Islam originated from the Arabian Peninsula spread throughout the land mostly by caravan trade. Much like Greece and Rome, Arabia was divided into tribes and cities, with different gods and goddesses they were devoted to, around sixth century A.D. Once a year the polytheistic people would meet in Mecca and pray at the Kaaba, which is now has a different meaning, to pray to their gods during Hajj. A few years after having his first vision Muhammad thought to be the last prophet for Allah, was forced to flee Mecca, his homeland, for the fear…

Christianity and Islam have several similar aspects. Both religions praise the same God, although they each have a different given name. Muslims refer to their god as Allah, and Christians simply refer to their god as God. Both religions are monotheistic, and both even have a set of religious laws that all who are righteous abide by. Muslims follow the Five Pillars of Islam, while Christians follow the Ten Commandments. Both religions even have their own religious texts: The Bible and The Koran. Christian missionaries declare that The Bible consists of true narratives based on actual revelations, and establish that the Prophet Muhammad is an imposter. However, it is extremely possible that The Bible is nothing more than a book of plagiarized stories taken from various ancient texts. The Koran seems to correct mistakes in the Bible and make true of its falseness, gives the true version of what really happened in the stories of Joseph, Noah, and Jesus.…

As it is told in the Bible, He was sealed up in a guarded tomb. An angel came and scared the heck out of the guards and fled the scene. The disciples later went to the tomb to discover it empty. Jesus had died on the cross for the sins of humanity and had risen from the dead, thus again proving that he was the true Messiah. The Prophet Muhammad was born in 569A.D. in Makkah, also known as Mecca, Saudi Arabia. He was raised by his grandfather, Abdul Muttalib. This was because Muhammad's father had died before he was born. Upon his grandfather's death, he was brought up by his uncle Abu Talib. The Makkans claim to be descended from Abraham by Ismail. (Pickthall, M.) Therefore, it could be said that [Islam](http://www.associatedcontent.com/topic/6753/islam.html) is similar to Christianity in the fact that both are Abrahamic…

The Islamic religion was founded by a man named Muhammad. Muhammad was born into the most powerful tribe in Mecca, the Quraish, around 570 A.D. When he was forty he started hearing voices and having visions. To clear his mind he would sometimes meditate on Mount Hira, near Mecca. On one of these occasions the archangel Gabriel appeared to him. This was one of the first revelations that became the basis of the Qur'an, the holy book of Islam. This is important because there are still countries and people who practice the Islamic…

Unlike other great religious leaders, like the Buddha, Moses, and Yeshua of Nazareth (Jesus Christ), Muhammad was born relatively recently, in the late 6th century CE, about the year 570. Muhammad was born in Mecca in Saudi Arabia in 570. Many unusual events have been recorded about Muhammad 's birth and childhood. His mother talked about Muhammad 's birth and said, "When he was born, there was a light that issued out of my pudendum and lit the places of Syria." She also said at the time of his birth, "...fourteen galleries of Kisra 's palace cracked and rolled down, the Magians ' sacred fire died down and some churches on Lake Sawa sank down and collapsed (Robinson, 2007)."…

Islam's development has resulted from major political, economic, and military effect both inside and outside the Islamic world. Muhammad's death in 632 caused disagreements over who would follow him as leader of the Muslim world, thus many different leaders arose. The Umayyad aristocracy viewed Islam as a religion for Arabs only. Islam spread quickly during 750-1258 the era that they call The Golden Age. Muslims believe that Allah revealed the Qur'an to Muhammad who was thought to be God's final prophet, and regard the Qur'an and the Sunnah, the words of Muhammad, as the basis of Islam. Islamic tradition says that Judaism and Christianity have distorted the messages of these prophets throughout time either in interpretation. Allah (God) is one and indivisible. They believe in monotheism. "Allah" means God in Arabic God is the one True Creator. The Muslims, like Christians, believe God has always existed and there was no one before him and he will exist forever; he has hold over life and death. (Chapter 112 in Al Quran) The principle scriptures of Islam are the Quran and the Hadith. The Quran is the main book of Islam telling of Allah's revelations to humanity, told through his…

No one knows the real birthday of Jesus! No date is given in the Bible, so why do we celebrate it on the 25th December? The early Christians certainly had many arguments as to when it should be celebrated! Also, the birth of Jesus probably didn't happen in the year 1AD but slightly earlier, somewhere between 2BC and 7BC (there isn't a 0AD - the years go from 1BC to 1AD!).…
