Cultural Perspectives On Abortion Essay
The argument about abortion is not fixed in the honesty of people who provision abortion or are against it or the morality of abortion, but rather how abortion fits into ones cultural perspective. In theology, some cultural perspective value woman’s right to abortion, while others degrade woman’s rights of their own body. The support varies between cultural perspectives. Thus, cultural perspective is what makes up a person and represents who they are, in which, it is where ones philosophies and ideals are engrained from. In many cultural perspectives, woman are often oppressed or degraded. They are less superior to men and even each other. With that said, looking at the abortion argument, women are diverged. Abortion is a topic with a lot of provocative surrounding it. It brings a division between women impeding the apposition of furthering women’s rights. It removes a women’s agency in their reproductive choices and forces them to accede to oppression within their cultural perspectives. The pro-choice movement of abortion is interpreted intricately through a feminist theological perspective and acknowledges women’s liberation and agency.
Through a feminist perspective, abortion is viewed as an important optimal for women. A feminist perspective values the right to an abortion as fundamental to women’s right to autonomy. It …show more content…

The three major sociological perspectives of conflict theory, symbolic interactionism, and functionalism all take a different stance on abortion. These theoretical viewpoints are shared, in no particular order, to sociologists Karl Marx, Georg Simmel, Max Weber, and Emile Durkheim.
