Abortion Is Controversial In The United States

The topic on Abortion was once controversial in the United States and still is to this present time. Abortion can be determining as voluntary termination of a pregnancy, as the embryo or fetus is removed from the uterus in order to terminate ones pregnancy. Another form of abortion is called spontaneous abortion, which is considered to be a miscarriage or the instant lost of ones fetus. Because abortion is debatable in our society, many people exhibit a vast range of ideas and believe on such topic. Some advocate such as, Pro-life supporters and religious believers would think that abortion is murdering an innocent life. Furthermore, pro- choice supporters believe that women should have the choice on whether she wants to give birth or not. Meanwhile, there are instances where abortion would be necessary in situation where a young woman was raped. Therefore, in most cases women, who encountered such situation especially if the rapist is a member of the family, would most likely want to undergo an abortion. However, pro-life supporter believes that abortion is wrong with no exceptions, including mother’s whose lives maybe endangered by the undeveloped fetus. The controversy of this society is that the child’s right to life outweighs the mother’s right to her body. On a biblical stand point, live should not be taken if not given. As a society we claimed to exercise our rights to freedom and to make choices that will be in the best interest of ones being. Abortion is such a widespread subject in both the private sector and within the government bodies. However, it appears that our government is constantly restricting abortion laws throughout the United States. According to Margaret Olivia Little , “one of the reasons women foe wanting to abort is that they do not want to become mother- now ,ever, again ,with this partner ,or no reliable partner ,with these few resources, or these any that are now ,after so many years of mothering ,slated finally to another case .” (Little, pg 41) Margaret Little explained that respect for creation, can make a mother chose to abort a fetus, if she isn’t able to financially, emotionally provide for the child or provide a safe environment for the child .The mother wouldn’t be comfortable with being responsible for the child. Some mother will have an abortion, if they are not financially stable or mentally prepared to have a child. Almost every mother wants to offer their child a better life than what they had. If low –income mother don’t have so many children, they wouldn’t have to depend on the government for assistance like Food Stamps, WIC, housing programs, etc. If the government was to abolish abortion rights, there will more people below the poverty line. Consequently there will be more people depending on the government for assistance that wouldn’t be beneficial for
