Jack The Ripper Murder Essay

The mystery of Jack the Ripper is a murder case of 5 victims who were brutally murdered. In the beginning, investigators made no progress in discovering the culprit of the murders until on September 27, 1888 when a letter was sent to a news organization signed with the name of Jack the Ripper. Multiple letters were sent and one of the letters in particular that was supposedly written by Jack the Ripper was found with a piece of a kidney that the author stated belonged to the most recent victim. Catherine Eddowes, the victim who was coincidently was found without a kidney, proved some of the letter’s authenticity. Three days later on September 30 the third and fourth murder occurred, the third murder victim being Elizabeth Stride. Elizabeth was last seen alive with a man at Fairclough Street the previous day. Later, after midnight, Louis Diemschutz could be seen driving his cart into Dutfield’s Yard. Louis’s horse suddenly stopped and acted funny at the entrance of the yard. Probing around with his whip Louis felt a body, assuming they were asleep Louis left to get help. Marry Kelly was murdered at her residence of No. 13 Miller’s Court. The landlord’s assistant, Thomas Bowyer, went to receive payment from Marry when he found what looked like to be two bloody lumps of meat on the table. The other thing he saw sent him running to retrieve John McCarthy, the landlord. When they returned they saw to their horror the mutilated body of Marry. Her body was skinned to the bone and parts of her face were removed making this the most brutal murder committed by Jack the Ripper.
