Is Social Connection Is Bad Or Good?
Do you ever think social connection is bad or good? Do you think about how it is helpful and harmful it is? When I hear about social networks, I think it is helpful. This is because when I see Facebook I see my mom posting new ads for her shop trying to get more business so we can do fun things together. Or I also see my dad calling my Antie Keke, so we can talk to all of our family in cousins all the way in Alexander City, Alabama. When I talk about using the web I talk about it mostly in a good way. Yea people think that social networks are bad with the "Oh My Gosh Taijsha Trump just tweet another tweet about how other Countries are Crap hole!?". That is why people love social media because you can see when your favorite stars are having fun, see when tour dates are, and maybe see one of your friend's parents getting married on Facebook live. This is people want to have Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, or other social platforms. A lot of people think that social media is good for helping social change, or making new relationships, and helps out local organizations but it is used for so much more.
Well, first when most people think of social change they think of bad stuff such as Donald Trump trying to make new laws against people just because of a small percent of their people such as the Muslim ban. However, it is also used for good social change such and black lives matter or als ice bucket challenge. Those are two major amazing things that come out of social networks which cause social change via social media. Well yes, it can it helps people in Jamaica and in Mexico. David Girling's video "Does Social Media Have Power to Change The World?" It says that " In Jamaica; health workers distribute information about HIV via a mobile connection. Also, David Girling's video "Does Social Media Have the Power to Change the World" vocalizes that " Mexicans are using the media to report information about drug wars and cartels."which could help out the communities that have a lot of children in them. Although; the web is used for putting these things together, it can also tear them apart from stopping it from happening in the first place just like that. Unlike a call to the police would take forever, and sometimes they come on their own time not when you need them which can such for the people trying to stop it all from happening. Even though I do not live in Mexico I know things in Chicago are the same way like they always use to be in the news. Erik Qualman video Socialnomics 2018 says two in three people get their news from the internet that is where I know that is where my parents are and how they get their information. One day my parents were on there Facebook and found out that a kid they knew was missing from Roy, Utah, and they started sharing and soon they found that he was lost and they did not know where he was.
