If I Could Vote
If I could vote, I would vote for Barack Obama. I like his views on mostly all the political topics. I think that he has tried so hard to make our country a better place for everyone living here. Many people complain that our country is in debt because of him and the economy has dropped dramatically. I think that those people don’t look at the positive things that Obama has done. Also, In order for something good to happen, there has to be something negative that comes out of it. I think that if Obama wins a second term, many good things will come to our country and a lot of things will change. My view has only made me want Obama to win even more throughout this campaign. Just hearing all the things that Romney has been saying, and just the way he is, makes me want Obama to win even more. I feel like since the first debate, I thought Romney was too full of himself and rude. I don’t want someone like that in charge of the country I live in. I think that Obama will win this election. One reason why is because the United States is a country full of immigrants from different countries and Obama is trying to help these immigrants and allowing them to have jobs and get an education like regular people. Romney, on the other hand, wants all the immigrants out and wants to build a border fence. I don’t think that’s fair at all because this country is made up of immigrants and people from different cultures and countries and Romney just wants to take all of that away. Another thing I like about Obama is how he likes to help middle-class and lower-class families. From my view of Romney, I feel like he worries more about the higher-class people, in other words, rich people. Again, I don’t think that that’s the right way to go as a President. Mitt Romney just has a lot of ways to take over our country that I don’t like or agree with. The issues that are most important to me are Education, Jobs, Economy and Role of Government. Obama meets all of MY requirements for all those

Mitt Romney has the best on the ground organization, the best fund raising arm, and the best skill set to come across well on camera and on stage. He creates the impression of a strong, decisive leader except its pretty clear that a number of his opponents have been somewhat more successful at creating jobs and running their States. Mitt Romney may appear to be the ultimate candidate but other candidates have proven themselves to be strong leaders and have produced excellent results. The real difference between former Governors Buddy Roemer, Gary Johnson and Mr. Romney is they can't poll above 1% nationally and Mitt Romney has been a front runner from the inception of his campaign. That speaks volumes about Mitt Romney' organizational and leadership skills.…

I am an independent voter, but even I can tell flip-flops and politicians do not go well together. As for presidential candidate Mitt Romney, one may need to second guess the correlation of the two. Extensive research of the two candidates running for presidency in the 2012 election led me to conclude Mitt Romney cannot be depended on to keep a definitive opinion, on how he plans to approach certain issues our nation faces. His character displays indecisiveness over and over again surrounding a few specific issues. The only thing he seems to be sure about is his political party status, a Republican, and his membership in the 1% club. Romney seems to be for or against any issue based on the majority opinion, so he can get the most votes. A few examples on the nation’s issues in which Romney has proven to “flip-flop,” are abortion rights, gun-control, and immigration laws.…

The first thing to say is that the man is clearly labouring under a heavy misconception. Romney is faced with a country that is trending demographically towards his opponents, an economy that it is recovering solidly under Democrat stewardship, and an electorate that has already rejected him twice (he also ran in 2008, when he failed to even secure the Republican nomination) – only a spectacular degree of misunderstanding can possibly have convinced him that this is his moment. But maybe the more interesting question is that of why this misconception persists – why is it that Mitt Romney feels entitled, or even destined, to one day be President?…

While answering this question, candidates identify the current economic problem differently. McCain states that the fundamentals of the economy have no problem and he frames the problem with some abstract terms. He argues that the lack of trust and confidence in the institutions enlarge the problem. The corruption on Wall Street and cronyism and selfish acts in Washington, D.C. diminish the hope of citizens for the future. That is why; America faces one of the worst economic crises in the history. However, Obama does not agree with his approach. He argues that there are basic problems in economy and in order to develop prosperity, the government should help the middle class. Many people have fixed wages and incomes therefore it is difficult to save money and retire. Middle class should get a tax cut about 95 percent, because they are working two jobs and they cannot spend adequate time with their…

When I was first asked to Vote it was an easy choice for me. I was picking Donald Trump. He was a business man that could help America financially and could take us out of the national debt. However, the more I looked at Donald Trump and the way his outlook on things were, I started to notice that maybe he is not a good fit for our president. Based on the way he wants to face the issues of education, foreign policy, and immigration, compared to Hilary Clinton and her way to face the issues it is clear to me now that Hilary Clinton is a better choice for presidential office than Donald Trump.…

Reasoning is a process we go through everyday. We reason weather we chose to eat an apple rather than a banana or if we should take the bus or walk. During the elections the American people seek reasoning on both sides: from themselves and from the candidates. The candidates for the election, Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama both interpret as much reasoning behind each argument to make it seem as realistic and achievable to the people. The voters apply reasoning to the arguments and plans put forward by the candidates to see which one seems to be most beneficial for their own interest as well as the interest of their families and that of the American population. In the first presidential debate, Mitt Romney was a key figure and was according to most Americans the dominant figure in the debate. He had…

There is a lot more data and history behind Obama’s work and decisions, than it is on Romney. Being the incumbent he has shown much of his strengths and also weaknesses, so the voters have a good idea what to expect from him. Huge part of his victory in 2008 was being the first African American with a realistic chance of winning. People saw him as a new hope, a change, being a Democrat he received many votes from the minorities and people with the lowest incomes. This time around it will be a lot harder. It will be all about results, promises and plans. Huge topic of debate will be the health care bill. Obama is trying to expand the health care coverage, so the poorest Americans would have access to it. The problem is that many resist the idea of having to buy health insurance or incur fines. I personally think that the plan is good, as ability to receive good health care is vital. Studying in America for a year, I have seen how expensive the medical insurance is there and there is no way, that people who barely make it to the next month, can afford paying for that. I believe it is the right thing to do, to show sympathy towards them and pay slightly higher taxes to help pay for the insurance for them. How will the race unfold remains to be seen, but it will definitely be a very exciting campaign and Romney has good chance of succeeding as he is a very strong candidate, but so is the incumbent…

At this point the election is less about who is the best candidate for the presidency, and more about who is not the worst. Though neither candidate is universally considered the ideal vision of a president, Hillary’s stance on issues such as foreign policy, tax plans, immigration policies, and abortion are much preferred. As the race between Secretary Clinton and Mr.Trump draws to a close America is waiting anxiously to see who their new leader will be.…

What each candidate believes and stands for should be a big deciding factor for one to use in deciding which candidate to vote for. One may not agree with everything that a presidential candidate says, but one should agree as closely as possible to the candidate that he or she chooses. Donald Trump’s stand against abortion and his desire to do something about illegal immigration are some things that caused me to choose…

The views that my group and I read about included Barack Obama and Mitt Romney’s views on the LBGT and same-sex marriage. I found that Mitt Romney came off as detached and removed in his support of the LBGT. It was almost as if he was just making the statement because he had. To make matters worse, Mitt Romney disagreed with same-sex marriage in statement although as governor of Massachusetts he seemed to be a supporter at the time. This makes him look like an abusive user, as he will seemingly say whatever it takes to receive the votes necessary for him to win. Someone like this does not seem trustworthy and can easily go back on any promises he makes. So why would I vote for him. Although, I do understand that this is how politics works. As governor of Massachusetts, he almost had to back same-sex privileges to gain support as a good percentage of the population was in support of the movement. Now as head presidential candidate for the Republican Party he must take on the ideas of the greater percentage of its…

    Voting Right

The rights of suffrage have come a long way since when voting first began. When voting first began only white, land-owning, males could vote. After many years and the efforts of many people, voting in the United States is open to anyone over the age of 18, except convicted felons. This privilege has now been taken for granted by many people, because they don’t think that their vote would change anything, or they just don’t want to vote. Some people think the only way to solve this problem is to legally require all people over 18 to participate in the voting process. I believe that this is a bad idea for many reasons such as, the immaturity of some voters, the chaos at the polls, and it could shame the history of suffrage.…

In this research paper, I intend to analyze the historical events and public activities that created a ground for politically unprivileged portion of 18th and 19th century United States society to express their dissatisfaction and the desire to have a right to vote. I will study how relevant historical events took place in different states or towns, how did the municipal and state authorities respond to them, how the press illustrated these events and what level of impact the events had on the future of the democratization of the voting process in the United States.…
